My son who's 23 has been an alcholic for years. I worry so much about him. Last night one of his so called friends came over and they went to a bar. He has a great job interview this morning. He's been so excited about and now he lays sleeping in a room that smells like beer. Please pray for him, he's depressed, finally got called for a great job and now I don't know what shape he'll be in when I wake him up.

Sorry to hear you are going through that. Unfortunately, your son needs some tough love. If not then he will never change. Sit down and have a serious talk with him about your concerns and how he is destroying his life. Have you tried a rehab center for him? Believe me if you don't do something now then things are just going to get worse. I lived with my brother growing up who was always in trouble with drinking and DUI's. My parents didn't do enough to help him when he was younger. You are the parent and you call the shots as long as he is living in your house. I know it's hard but you need to do something now before it's too late.

Why would you post this here? Please take him to a de-addiction center. That's what a good mother will do other than sitting in front of the computer and seeing your son getting drunk. Gosh.

Why would I post here???? OMG, Ive tried everything and was looking for others who have been though this as well. Not someone to tell ME Im not a good Mom,Im a great Mom who is concerned enough about her child to swollow my pride and ask others for advice. You must either not have kids, or you somehow got lucky.... Count your blessings it can happen in ANY family !

its too hard friend to give up this type of addiction. i am also addicted to alchohol and without it i cant read or write to late night. its my energy but i have tried several times to give up but found failure. i think here i shall get some response. but to the first respondent, i would like to say that its the platform where we get some resolutions to our problems. so we are here.
