A few more updates on the plane crash

It is thought that the victim in the building of the plane crash was 67 yr old, IRS worker, Vernon Hunter; a Vietnam vet.
The neighbors of Hunter are upset and worried, and taking care to help Hunter's family.
The fire department says that the reason for the low loss of life in the accident was because of the building's fire suppression and the fact that the people in the building had practiced evacuations.
Also didn't hurt that a couple of smaller communities were practicing across the highway from the building when it happened. The teams scrambled and were first on the scene, and the hasmat teams were starting the building search within a few minutes of the event.
Then, there was the window repair guy driving by that got off the highway, pulled out his extension ladder and rescued 5 people.
On his way into crashing into the building, the plane also hit a car with a pregnant woman in it. She was taken by a family member to the hospital, but was fine. The police checked the car and has now returned it to the family.
Texans aren't ones to stand aside when an emergency happens, and even if they aren't in their "jurisdiction" they will respond to any need.
Stack was apparently previously married, a daughter now living in Norway said that she wished he'd confined that he was upset, that he was a good father.
I will keep trying to update y'all as I learn more on this event.

I was watching this on the news all last night. Things could have turned out a lot worse as that impact did look pretty gruesome and while it's sad one innocent person Vernon Hunter did lose his life it could have been a lot worse and a lot more casualties.

I agree, and the building looks like lots of people should've been injured. One witness said he was surprised, he expected from seeing the fire that they would be bringing the wounded out of hours - and not have the 2 injured transported in less than a half hour.

You have better information than we are getting from the news. How great that people saw an emergency and took action. No one standing by saying "Duh, it's not MY job." I am so glad there were people there to help. It is sad that there was any loss of life, and that Mr. Stack was so upset and felt he had to get revenge or call attention in this way. I am sorry his daughters lost their dad in this way.

Yeah, its like the ONLY thing on the local news, so they are looking for every angle of the story - but while the roomie is tired of it already, I am not tied down to the house like she is.
At least she was trying to calm down people online who were jumping on every rumor that floated in the breeze... an annoying habit of some people to make stuff up when they don't know anything.

Thank you very much. It's always better when someone who's actually there tells us what is going on because by the time the news gets to the rest of us, it is changed or almost non-existant. I am very sorry for his family and all those who had to go through so much to survive.

Hey Elic~ Thanks for giving such a personal update on this
devasting and horrific crash. I hope that his family is ok and
will be able to put their life back together with the help that
will be offered to them since they are also victims. I think
that this is so sad that his family has to pay the price because
he decided he wanted to be a martyr!

I, too, hope the widow and daughter can recover from this blow.
The wife taught piano out of their home, so that source of income is now lost, at least for now.
I do think they are also victims of Stack, apparently they weren't even at the house the night before because of a fight.

I appreciate this update. You listed things we didn't hear in the news here. I feel sorry for this man's family--his craziness will haunt them all their lives. How selfish he was. I hope that at least all this makes some government officials think about listening to what the people have to say but I won't hold my breath.

those people are lucky that someone took the time to respond. Sometimes I wish people would be more eaager to respond in matters like this, but you don't see that much anymore.
