let me start by saying WOW!!!!! what a game this one if you are a fan of wide open hockey big hits and intensity this was the game for you. this game was by far the best of the tournament so far and I'm sure no one expected the US team to win, since i can't remember the last time we beat them in hockey. Buffalo Sabres goalie Ryan Miller was a star in this game and despite being outshot for most of the game Team USA was able to win. Team USA scored in the games opening minute on a shot redirected by Sidney Crosby. Crosby cut the lead to 4-3 with about 2 and a half minutes to go, but team USA got a one handed diving empty net goal to seal the win 5-3. Miller made some amazing saves and was by far the star of the game. without his great play team USA would have lost for sure. Did anyone else see this game what did you think of it? i am definitely gonna try to stay up for SWEDEN and FINLAND at midnight though i may watch that with one eye open this game had the intensity on a gold medal final, but was only the last game of the preliminary round. Canada fell to 6th in the overall standings with the loss. Team USA will finish either 1st or 2nd depending on goal differential

It was a good game to watch. I was hoping for a Canadian victory but Miler played a great game. Rafalski also played a great game. Kesler of the Canucks scored that one handed empty net goal. I think it's come to the point where you can't put a 'hate on' the Americans because some of them play for your regular NHL team. I mean I'm pro-Canada but I realize that the rest of the world have caught up.

it has to be tough to lose a game when you outshoot the opposition by as much as they did and so many quality chances, but Miller was unreal in the net took away a lot of great scoring chances, but they will get their chance to play again. if they both win out i think Team USA who has the top overall seed moving forward plays the winner of Switzerland and Belarus, and Canada who is the 6 seed plays against Germany who is winless so far if they win that game they will get Team Russia next and that should be a dandy too, since both were considered the favorites coming into the tournament.

Can't say that I watched the game but by your description here it must have been a very intense game to watch. Hockey is probably one of my least favorite sports due to the fact for one reason you can never really watch a game without a fight breaking out.

no fights in this one would take away from the great action, but a lot of intensity you would of thought the gold was on the line in this game, but a long way to go till next Sunday.

I'd say someone is a big hockey fan! Unfortunately I am not, but I am glad you enjoyed the game. I haven't watched any sporting event since the Super Bowl.
