A procrastinator is someone who postpones work (especially out of laziness or habitual carelessness). So are you one? ;D Me, I'm a self-confessed procrastinator. I tend to put off things to do what I want first before the actual task. Especially if it involves going online ;) If I'm due to do research or make a presentation, I would check first my emails, social networking sites and mylot before I do my actual purpose. I think it's normal for a lot of us ;) Even when I'm reviewing for the state board, I go online first before reviewing my notes. So are you like me, a procrastinator? or do you finish all your work and tasks before doing something you like?

You hit the point, I am a procrastinator. I used to postponing work to the final minute and just hope that I am able not to do that later. I don't like this habit. As a lot of trifle things waited for solving in office, I just listed a schedule in the paper slip and kicked out those jobs I have finished. My boyfriend always advised that we could not avoid it if the problem did not solve, and we should face it actively and positively. It is no significance to postpone work. I think there is point in his words, but sometimes I could not help controlling myself.

I used to be a procrastinator and things were hard for me, some things I do get them done later, but some others never get done or it would be too late. It is so bad to be a procrastinator, even at school I would prepare my tests at the last minute, this didn't get me the best grades :-( My husband was the first one to tell me how bad I was, he is the kind who doesn't procrastinate at all. I learned from him and now it all makes my life easier than before. Take care.

I am not but their are times i procrastinate especially when I really feel bad like when i am sick so basically i refuse to cooperate r to do anything and no one could force me to do something when i feel not alright. The key here to avoid procrastinating is to keep all schedules organized or have an organizer booklet where you could list all the important things to do and not to forget so all your plan goes smoothly as you could.

i try not to procrastinate. there are many reasons for this. i learnt from my friends who procrastinated and they had encountered problems. you know there are bills to be paid like telephone , electricity and water bills to be paid as there are due dates. this particular friend forgot about his electricity bill and went outstation for duties. while he was away, the bill was due and his electricity was cut. his mother phoned him up and he had to ask his friend to settle the bill. he had to pay connection fee for the reconnection, so much stress, inconvenience like cannot wash clothes in the washing machine, cannot cook and no electricity for fans and airconditioning. there was another case of overdued insurance premium and he did not pay eventhough a final notice came. the end result was his insurance poliy lapsed. now my friends use standing instructions to pay all these bills and policies. another was work deadlines. when i was young and schooling, there were school homeworks to be done. i kept till nearing deadline to do. what happened there was a power failure and i could not finished the homework. though my teacher excused me on this but i did not feel good. from then onwards, i always prioritised what i have to do and try to finish them. i do not wait till tomorrow what i can do today.so far, this works well for me.

I am! And left entirely to myself, I'd never get anything done. I seem to work most efficiently when there is some pressure on me to get the job done, for example, the pressure of having to finish the work immediately, and being answerable for it.

Im a certified procrastinator but I didnt knew it until I read the meaning of procrastinating. They said that procrastinating is a sin but i dont know why, maybe because you prioritized your self first before doing what you have to do. I think it is also my habitual laziness, I also done this when I was reviewing for my state licensure exam. I failed because I prioritized first my friends and my boyfriend, going somewhere without thinking for the incoming exam. I always told my self that I can have the review later because I still have a lot of time.

...Hi onlyprincess, Yes, I guess, I do tend to procrastinate. As long as it doesn't disrupt anything major, I have no problem with putting things off. It gives me a sense of freedom, not to adhere to any time frame. For too many years, you have to be on time for this, on time for that. This has to be done, etc., and the beat goes on. I love changing appointment days and times, call me crazy, but it's my life. And I'll take care of it tomorrow "o) Take it easy.

I've been meaning to respond to this discussion for all day now, so I guess that makes me one! Seriously though: Why do today what can be put off until tomorrow? That's kinda been my mantra for a while now. Funny how I'm not really getting around to much these days! There's always a tomorrow and that's essentially the problem. Also, procrastination gives you a way to look forward to the next day having blown the current one. Well, there's always tomorrow!

I am a procrastinator. I would always have homework that needs to be done or a big project and i would do it the day before or when i get to school. But i should stop procrastinating and start doing homework on time and earlier cause if I don't I will fail my classes and won't get to the college I want. So I am working on this right now and its not much of a difference.

Yes. I procrastinate too. I find the thrill of having to complete something under pressure a little more beneficial when it comes to the quality of the work i get done.

Well, I certainly do have days, when I procrastinate a lot. I'm certainly not saying that I procrastinate all the time. It's not something that I like to do or like to admit. But still ... it does happen that I procrastinate. There are days, when I really can't help but procrastinate. It's just the way that it goes.

Yes, I am a procrasinator. I actually have a research paper due on in two days, and instead of working on it I am here. I am playing games online, checking emails, and just about everything else.

in a way, yes. trying to condition myself first with lots of things before i proceed with my main activity. i call these distractions as commercials in life. the point is, sometimes in our lives we do it go get away from responsibilities. it's fine to have an intervention once in a while as long as we don't overdo it. :)

I put off boring routines which I can live without but when they get cluttered up I have no other option but to sit and complete those chores. Procrastination is my undoing as otherwise I am a pretty capable and talented individual but only those who procrastinate know what harm it does to ones progress.

First of all, I was going to do this topic earlier but I put it off until now. Okay, all kidding aside there are times where I procrastinate, only to an extent and it regards to prioritizing things that I have to do. I look at this large task that looks to be tricky and something that I might not want to do right now. I shrug my shoulders and go: "Yeah this needs to get done, but I'll get to it in a little bit, I should do this first and get this out of the way before tackling that." Little things that push back certain aspects of work. I do not recommend procrastinating under any means. Time has an irritating habit of disappearing in the blink of an eye. Pushing something back bit by bit will after a certain amount of time catch up. It will strike you as frustrating how much time you have lost. Still, I admit, I do put things off until later. When later comes, I wish I had actually done them earlier. Such is life I guess.

Yeah, i'm a procrastinator. I tend to put hard tasks aside first, usually prolonging my agony. I'm looking for change though. Would be nice if i can change...
