Going Going Gone

I lost two discussions today. Both identical and about that heinous, blasphemous, obscene activity of eating oranges. Inadvertently I posted the same discussion twice. The notification even told me that it was "accidental" which it was. But I lost both. So I apologise to those of you that wasted good posting time answering. Such is life and far worse things happen at sea (apparently). In fact, I wonder, just what are those "worse things" that happen at sea. Any ideas?

hi pikey I almost fell off my chair just now when I got the notification my response has been deleted because your suck on a n orange got deleted for heavens sakes why, since when are eating oranges breaking any rules? help. My Ihave really been obscene then as I ate oranges by just biting into it and sucking ouf the juice and enjoying the thing. wwo. never knew that was so horible. I am laughing. Oh at sea I would think the worst outside of barfing uncontrollably would be to fall overboard.I have never had that happen to me, but the seasickness oh yes. from now on I am g oing to watch how I title what few discussions I put out. shows maybe the mylot admins had a few dirty minds out there. he he he.

Worse than puking or falling overboard, I would think, would be to fall overboard while you're puking...

I think that it was because I accidentally duplicated the discussion Hatley. But why they took both down beats me. But it's their ball and they can play with it how they want. Don't fall overboard - although if you do there will be thousands ready to brave the sharks to fetch you back!

I would imagine that after carefully peeling, delicately separating the sections and sitting down to savor the juicy fruit of your orange, that if the ship hit some turbulence causing the orange to roll and drop over the side of the ship...that could be worse. Kind of says something for the knife and fork approach, at least it wouldn't have rolled.

Is the ship so insecure and badly gaurded that a minor turbulence can make the orange slip out of the ship? Or if the turbulence is og high magnitude then the peeler himself will slip off the ship and not just the juicy orange Lol

Well, if you lost your discussions overboard, dived in to try and retrieve them, got eaten by a shark or drowned, I guess that would count as worse. In a few months, I might be able to come up with other ideas as I'm waiting for good weather to try out the local pleasure cruises, and hubby is saving up for some sea fishing trips.

Yep, I just read a notification alerting me that my hard thought out response had been deleted without much thought at all..Well, you could end up like Captain Hook, Lose an eye, leg, and have to wear a hook in place of your arm..or fall over board and find that while restocking the ship someone forgot to restock the life preserve.

I was shocked myself when my discussion was deleted. I am so sorry for those who responded to my post. I was only half way through commenting when it disappeared from the screen. Nothing hurts more than seeing 10 pages of responses go down with that discussion. I don't believe 97 people would respond to it if it was a post that goes against mylot rules. Only god knows why it was thrown to the fire of hell!

I don't understand why it was not deleted much earlier and the worse thing is it was in the digest which only entrap others to respond. I would have been happy if it was deleted instantly. I have good number of intellectual views in that discussion and I don't think they are all fools not to know what 'violation' means. I hope admin was not bias and acted with discretion to delete the discussion. It really mystify me to no end the working of this site and their so call violations.

@ Zandi458 It is quite disgusting. What rules are implemented in the deletion is really not understandable for me. I like the site. But observing some characteristic of this site I fall in thinking that should I love this site? Strict guideline is important but transparency and clarity is also important. Some time I think what actually the admin of the site want? Deletion of violation is rule but what are the rules followed to determine the wrong and right? I have read your deleted discussion and responded too. What violation you have done in that discussion is not understandable for me. Are we so fool that can't determined the violation.

Some one respond attacking other user and showed the cause that the poster of the discussion is aged 50. That is the incident occurs here in this site. And you have expressed that in the discussion. If the site censor like this discussion. What discussion they want here? That is a very useful discussion and by the response we can learn the manner of social networking site. More over that such discussion can make people aware on the behavior in social networking site. But that is not looked perfect by the site administrator. Not I am dissatisfied. I fear that if I express that I am dissatisfied then site may consider me as not fit for the site.

Ah, so that's why. I was starting to fume slightly about why it could've gone. Thought maybe somebody objected to the sucking reference in the title, lol! Still, a bit harsh seeing as it was accidental, but yes, never mind. I'm trying to rack my brains about all these terrible things that must go on at sea. Maybe it's referring to 'Lost'. They people from Lost are stuck on an island in the middle of the sea after their plane crashed, (at least the versions of themselves in the reality where the plane crash happened; the other versions of themselves are going about their slightly altered lives..) But anyway, they've had some pretty awful things happen to them. So that must be what it is.

Hi, I was just curious about what your original discussion about oranges was??? I have read that oranges are not good for you because they can have fungus. I have tried to stop eating them on account of this but I kinda love the way orange juice tastes. I have tried to stop drinking store processed juice as much as I can due to pasturization and how it removes the good stuff from the juice anyways. But I do have a juicer and love juicing my own fresh orange juice once in a while. I also enjoy those cuties (little tangerines) and Tangelos from my parents hybrid tree which I also enjoy juicing for the wonderful fresh squeezed juice I get from my juicer which is the jack LaLanne's (got from kohls). As for the other question I know I sure don't have any answers for that one. Jen aka Kittykat7983

Well P1key, off hand the Titanic springs to my mind when talking about "worse things" that happen at sea! I am sure that all of your friends/fans that posted on those two discussions Know it was an accident and therefore have no hard feelings about it, after all, we All make mistakes sometimes...well Almost All of us, personally I have no experience with making a mistake!! Yeah, apparently I lost a response because someone's original post was deleted. MyLot...seriously...I think you need to take a look at your new posting rules. It's not fair for those of us who simply respond to a discussion that you think violates the TOS to get our responses dropped.

coolcoder, as I previously explained to you here www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2251406.aspx?p=44 the "rules" haven't changed. The only thing that's changed in this respect is that now you're notified when a discussion you respond to is removed from our site. Would you rather we went back to not informing you?

the mystery of the sea remains unfathomable and beyond the understanding of men. the sea can be calm and romantic, but it can also go on a rage and wreak havoc on humans and other living creatures in its womb. lives, a lot of it, have been taken by the sea. but the sea is the source of life -- food and livelihood, aesthetics and relaxation, etc. such is the sea, mysteriously enchanting, p1kelf1sh...

further, i don't swim well but the first time i took a cruise, i decided that whenever possible i'd take it as a means of travel from island to island, country to country... no more airplanes for me... unless of course, i am limited by time... traveling by sea allows a lot of things to run in your minds... time to ponder, time to admire beauty or simple just to watch the breeze and the dolphins...
