Philly when it isn't chilly

Well I was checking out flight prices for July for the east coast. I'm looking for major airports anywhere between Buffalo, NY and Atlanta, GA. Got family to visit in Greenville, SC, and upstate NY and lots of places to sightsee in between. For what ever reason, Philadelphia is cheaper than any other major city, both with Southwest and with other airlines. Why is that, do you suppose? Does anybody have any "must see" places to recommend? Other than DC and the relatives, I don't have anything specific planned.

I think Philadelphia sounds like a good option.. If budget is not a concern, how about NY then? I've always wanted to visit NY..

I'd definitely like to have a couple of days in NYC if we can manage it.

Well, WE could have lunch someplace shnazzy, if you'd like:) Philly is also a great leap off place, as NYC is a short drive as is DC/Baltimore, and then theres the the Jersey Shore, AC, six flags, Longwood Gardens, Valley Forge, Lancaster (amish exploitation).... we have stuff here, it's just a well kept secret ;)
