Is it ok to kidnap wildlife, then expect them to proform for us? Is it a big surprise when a wild creature does something wild? http://uktodaynews.com/1984/sea-world-trainer-killed-by-orca-whale-shamu/ I think it's nice to see animals in zoos but do feel they should be there because for some reason they will not survive in the wild. It is very sad that this woman lost her life. I don't want to belittle her life or her work..I'm sure she was committed to what she did. Tell all Friends.... oxoxoxo

Hi Raydene, If any wild animal is kept in captivity like the whale that killed its trainer, all due respect should be given to it as it is and always will be a wild animal or fish therefore their own natural instincts will take over at some stage-it was unfortunate that this happened to the whale's trainer and it has been known the same whale has killed before-how do we know it was just having an 'off' day? I just hope that it doesn't get put down because of it that is the cruelty of man. I keep snakes but respect the fact that they could just as well bite me or just be placid and calm yet they are a wild reptile and it is expectd they will revert to their natural instincts if needed-that is what man has yet to learn to respect animals, reptiles and fish of anykind just as we can be hurtful unkind and cruel for no reason at all normally in an animal there IS a reason for their actions..LoLo xoxo

it is tragic and not the first time this has happened. in the wild i don't think there are any records of orcas attacking humans but captivity is very stressful for them and sometimes they flip. i hope this incident brings seaworld to its senses.

I definitely think we need to leave wildlife in the wild. This is why I have never been to one of those interactive animal parts, and why I have never swum with the dolphins. I think it's cruel what trainers do to captive animals, how they exploit them for the sake of entertaining people who shell out huge sums of money.

It is definitely tragic when something like this happens. I really don't feel that these animals should be kept in capitivity, unless there is some reason why they cant live in the wild, like they are sick, or injured. I live here in Miami and we have a place called Miami Seaquarium, while I have taken my kids there and even went there on field trips when I was a kids. Its sad to see the animals. No matter how realistic they try to make their habitats, they can only do so much and make them so big. I just dont think you can keep a killer whale in a tank by his self all his life and expect him not to eventually harm someone. These animals swim around with their fins curled over, and i do believe that means that they are stressed. I have never seen on NATGEO them swimming around in circles in the middle of the ocean with their fins curled! We should try to learn about all animals not keep them in cages and tanks way too small to be beneficial.

wild animals survive better in the wild.it is a good sight to see wild animals in their natural habitats.even if they are in captivity, that wild side will still emerge.especially those you are captured at adult age.their wild instincts are still intact.there's no way you can tell when that will emerge.
