I got my first notice from myLot today, telling me they deleted a response from an old discussion because it was not valid. I can live with this decision. However, I sure would like to know what my response was and why it was considered invalid. How in the world are we supposed to improve our posting quality? The email included the original post, but not my reply. What exactly is the purpose of telling us our input was removed if we can't even remember what we said? Am I missing something here?

Was only your response deleted or was it deleted together with the entire discussion? I notice that when a discussion that I created is deleted then a reason is given but when it is a response, I am only told the title and I can ususally remember which one it was and realise the reason (which I was usually aware of before posting).

Well, I think it was just my response, according to the email I received. I tried to look through the discussions and find it, but there are just so many I gave up. This discussion was about snack ideas for a daycare. I think I would have given an well thought out response to that discussion since I am a daycare provider and have experience in providing healthy snacks. I am fairly careful to choose discussions that I feel would not violate guidelines so I was really surprised. Really I dont care that they deleted my response, I just want to know WHY.

I absolutely understand that you want to know why! We can learn which posts to avoid when we know where they were posted.

I have good news, more good news, and bad news. The good news is that your comment wasn't deleted after all, and you never should have received this notification. The "more" good news is that you've helped us uncover another glitch, so I thank you for that. The bad news is that you've helped us uncover another glitch. See the original post here, at #2: www.mylot.com/w/discussions/35607.aspx Please disregard the notice and I'll inform the programmers right away. Sorry about that!

Well be happy, at least they are informing us that they are deleting a response or a discussion, and explaining the reasons.Till now, we never even knew which response or discussions were deleted.

hi loved1 I bet it was an old discussion that was deleted as they would show the post but not why, and because you responded your response also got deleted. Now if it had been your discussion they would have said what rule it broke. I know the notices i have got said my response was deleted because the discussion it was on was deleted then it told me the name of it. j

I received a notification also today but I really do not know where I did go wrong. It says not to promote anniversaries, birthdays but all that I posted was about Sachin's 200 run haul.

I too am facing similar problems. Over the past few days, I can at this moment recollect two of my responses which were deleted coz the entire discussion got deleted due to user guideline violation. Of course the title of the discussion was given and from that I do think that those discussions were deleted coz they were repetitions of similar old discussions. Now if I am correct then this is going to be a serious bother for all of us…mylot is a vast place and similar discussions are bound to crop up, intentional or otherwise and if we are to check all discussions before responding, it would be a Herculean task!

yes that is very strange. ive noticed at least they have started notifying us about a discussion being deleted we responded to. they used to not do that even. but i didnt know they were telling us about individual responses we've made it kind of makes you concerned about how much we are going to loose and how much time could be wasted here.

I have received notifications too, that my response was deletet because a discussion was deleted. I ma glad that we now know what the title ofthe discussions that was deleted. In fact, the one that got deleted, that I posted to, I wasn't sure it would be deleted or not. It was from a user that just keeps posting discussions, and I think that user wwon't be able to comment to all of them, andprobably isnt' either. I did report spam one user for spam and I iwll report more unless it stops. I don't like it when users just post to be posting, and I know that is what they are doing, is posting to earn, nothing more. It is so sad too, but it happens, and way to much. I hope there all deleted as they are discussions that don't make sense. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.
