I don't think anybody will gaim weight due to swimming. Swimming is a good exercise and it is one of the exercises that is valuable to all parts of the body. It doesn't mean that once you start swimming daily, you will lose a lot of weight. If so, all the swimming competitors should be very thin, which is not the case. I don't think swimming will let somebody gain weight.

swimming is a excellent cardio exercise and it burns your fats faster but i don't think training hard to it will give you descent muscle bulk, it just give you a good muscle tone..thats why when you stop and eat an extra amount you will gain weigth..

Well, you can gain wait swimming as well, but that would be muscle mass. I understand what you are saying - I love swimming. And swimming equals a very hungry me! But you're right. If you're a diehard swimmer and eat a swimmer's diet, you'd have to change your eating habits if you just stopped swimming to not gain some weight. Weight that isn't muscle mass.

Swimming a a great sport and good for cardio exercising. It use all your body muscle and it will increase your stamina and endurance if you will long enough. You will gain weight in a good way but it's important to get some sugar and protein in you after words. That's because after a hard day of training some of you muscle will get torn and you need sugar and protein to fix it. That way you'll gain some muscle weight..

Some swimmers gain weight at first. That is lean muscles mass. Some people get discouraged early on because of the scale lies. Some interpret the gains as getting fatter but you are actually building muscles you normally do not use. Once muscles are up to the task I.E. you not making huge muscle gains anymore the weight will fly off. You have increased metabolism with lean muscle mass wich burns calories even when not directly working out I.E. in your sleep. First month or so deny your tempation to be fixated on the scale. After the first month you can give into your urges and as long as you are woking hard in the pool the weight will fly off!

narashivakumar, Swimming like jogging is another of exercise where it is suppose to keep our bodies fit and most of all healthy. Yet, as in any form of physical activity we will need to eat and when we do so we need to observe moderation - balance diet. I am sure you will not have overweight problems if we do not overeat and not have a poor diet.
