the series have ended with SA won the last match, india won the series 2-1. what is the reason do you think in lossing the third match? i will say that there is no need of resting Shewag and Sachin same time, sachin can be given rest as he played a long innings last match and india won the series. What is the need of resting Shewag, remember India have already lost their permanent players like Gambhir, yuvaraj,Harbajan,Zaheer.in the mean time resting shewag & sachin will cost very much ,and we have seen it in 3rd odi. so what is the reason do you think?

well what i think is that india was not in the mood to play all his team strength fort he last match. they gave the players rest as we are already down with a lot of injuries. and then they gave chance to young players to play sot that they get a sense to play in crunch situations and then when they are required in the main scenario, they come out good.

ya we were not played just to our strength. permenant 5 mebers were missing 1.sachin 2.gambhir 3.sewag 4.yuvraj 5.zaheer but still we were able to score 275 in chasing.so its not a bad one for team. bt we should have tried for a clean sweep in the series by playing some one who can chase down a big score.specially in opening

I think the reason was that India has already won the series and rested key players and given opportunity to young players. I agree that Tendulkar shouldn't have given rest, because there was still a decent enough break till the IPL started and also Tendulkar will not be playing for quite some time after the IPL as he's not participating in the world T20 tournament. Also, since he scored a double hundred in the previous match against South Africa, he would have continued with the same momentum and probably scored an other big.

I think it was ok for India to try out fringe players. You hardly get an inconsequential international match and this was a great match for India where they had already won the series 2-0. So they could try out the fringe players. To me the best line up for india looks like this: Sachin, Sehwag, Gambhir, Yuvraj, Dhoni, Harbhajan, Zaheer. So these 7 spots are finalized, but the remaining are still open and the people staking the claim are: Raina, Jadeja, Nehra, Ishaant, Yusuf Pathan, Irfaan Pathan, Vijay, Rohit Sharma, Ojha, Mishra etc. So given that many places still at stake and so many players to be tried out, such chances have to be taken for experimentation. Cheers! Ram

The reason of India's loss ion the final ODI is pretty simple, India was not playing with its full strength. I think it was a good decision to rest Sachin and Sehwag as there is tough IPL season is coming up. So it is good that they take some rest. Resting the players gave the oppurtunity to younger players to showcase their talent at the international level.

The reason for India losing the third ODI against South Africa was their bowling in the last ten overs. If you see, India and South Africa were almost at the score when they reached 40 overs each with India having lost few more wickets. But in the end, Indian bowlers gave them more than 120 runs in the last ten overs which allowed them to pile up such huge score. India would not have made that score unless they were to have a batsman like Sehwag in their playing team of the last match. Another reason is that many batsman got enough runs and start but were not able to convert them into big scores and were not able to form partnerships at crucial stage of the game and that is were the link got broken and wickets started falling at regular interval while chasing down the South African total for victory!!

Hi, we missed all six gems that u have cited and thats why we bow down to africans. All players were not able to prove their responsiblities. Yes, their feelings as 'out of danger' might be considered.

Yes,Sehwag should not be rested. But we have to know the strength of our bench. So it is a good chance to have a look at it.What the problem is at least we should have brought in praveen instead of sreeshant.Sreeshanth is in complete out of form. Then how can he guide other two fast bowlers. But nothing wrong now we know our bench capability. We have scored 275 against South Africa. The batting strength is perfect. The world cup is also nearing so are in good position in batting.Only bowling have to be taken care.Hope we look after it.
