Years passed by but I'm still guilty because she died because of me. I was happy that day because i conquered my fear of high breed dogs because when i was a little i was bitten by our own dog. Me and ciara(american bulldog) had a wonderful day. I groom her and afterward feed her with her favourite food, do some walking and play. On that evening I went outside and check on her and seated beside her while exchanging SMS to my partner. She bark several times to catch my attention but still ignore her. I was so irritated because my ear rings due to his bark so what i did, i shout and ignore her again. A few minutes after I noticed that she's no longer at my side and she's been so quite after i shouted. I stood up and saw her leash twisted to her body and neck....and it was too late to rescue her. Until now, I'm still guilty of it and sometimes misses her. Every time i see our photos my tears feel. My little brother blaming me of what happened. Do you experience the same feeling? Your pet died because of you?

Well it's not the funnest thing in the world to feel guilty. Still you have to remember that you shouldn't blame yourself because if you are not able to forgive yourself you will always have regret in your heart and be filled with sorrow and regret. It's not very fun to carry that feeling with you always in your life.

I am so sorry to hear about your dog passing away. That was a very sad story. I am sorry that you feel guilty about her passing and should not blame it on yourself. You did not know why she was barking or that this would happen. I am sure you miss her. Hope that you will be okay and get another pet and hope that your little brother will stop blaming you. I have not experienced this before but if I did, I am sure that I would have a hard time too as I love animals.

I was sad to your story... I am a pet lover but dog is my my favorite.. Even in movies I like watching them and I'm happy seeing them in movies. I love dogs for the reasons that they are so sweet and they love me too. They are friendly animals. I know, that when you show love to them, they gave it back to us also no matter what. When I was a child i had a dog and I love her. But one afternoon when I went home I didn't saw her... until I found out that my dog was killed by my neighbor and their friends. That scene happened again 5 years ago. They killed my dog cooked and ate.

I am sorry that it happened to you. I know that you will feel guilty for you in a way ignored her barking and in turn, shouted at her. In time, your guilty feelings will be gone and hopefully, when you find another dog, you will turn to her every time she barks.

It's a sad story. I had a pet ( my very first puppy) I bought him during christmas season. I brought him to the vet 5 days after I bought him because he got sick, the vet told me to comback after he recovers for his deworming, but I ignored it, a month passed and he lost his appetite and is coughing, I thought it was just a regular cough so I just gave him lots of water. the next night his poop was watery and it was really foul that has worms on it. The next day, I bought a dewormer from a pet shop and medicated him but he vomits it. I tried to save him by feeding him food and dextrose water through a medicine dropper. I thought he was already recovering because he was sleeping soundly in his cage but on January 31 2010, 11:40(not exact) pm he vomitted a green slimy substance and he wasn't breathing anymore. It was so sad and up until now, I remember my first pup. "potchi" is his name =(

This indeed is a touching story. I hope you picked another pet and made up. I am very particular about the kind of bark my pet gives. I know when she is in trouble. They have different barks for different occasions. Next time take care. My deepest sympathies.
