Looks like MyLot Vetarans Now Avoid or Hesitate to Participate in these Topics..

The topics like make extra income, online earnings, and other related topics are the places I have observed to have many incidence of violation of MyLot policies and terms of use... like new members posting referral links promoting their respective income opportunities. If a discussion you have participated, if a discussion you have responded, is deleted because somewhere down the line, a newbie started posting or promoting referral links, then chances are your number of posts is also deducted, and so your earnings!.. Looks like your efforts are wasted... That's how I feel.. How about you?.. Do you also hesitate to participate in discussions started in these categories like "make money, make extra money, online earnings, earning money, and so on.. ?

If I see a discussion in any interest, and not just the money interests, which I feel is a violation then I don't always skip it. Sometimes I respond and advise the user who posted it of the violation that they have posted. If the user is a new one then often they have already lost posts but were unaware of the reason and they are grateful for the advice. I do this when I see jokes, polls, repeated topics and recipes posted by a new users too. If the discussion is by an older user then I sometimes but not always respond on it to with the same information. I am not bothered about losing a point or a penny and wasting my time because I feel it is not wasted if one more user realises that it is a waste of their efforts to post such topics. I often make new friends while doing so and that is definately not a waste of time. I also notice that more and more new users are warning others when they post the wrong type of non-discussions in the money interests and for this reason I shall continue to advise there when I see them. The more users who advise, the sooner we will see less of those type of discussion and the more happy Lotters there will be

Gosh! BR so soon Thank you! There are many of us who are trying to help other Lotters, especially the new ones. Every day there are discussions complaining about discussions being deleted or earnings reducing and neither would have happened if those who posted them had taken time to read the Guidelines. They might seem tedious but they are definately not a waste of time. They are the secret to becoming a happy Lotter! We will get the message across sooner or later I hope Have fun and happy Lotting!

Thanks for the MyLot lessons you have shared. You have shared to us, especially to newbies passing by this discussion, the "true secret" to becoming a happy MyLotter. I think this is also a reminder for all of us, newbies and veterans alike, that MyLot is a social networking site, and not a site created solely for money making. A social network is a friendship site as we know it, created to help us meet new people, and make friends.. But I wonder if, is it possible to become a good MyLotter (as you have described above), and at the same time become "money-oriented" in activities in MyLot? Taking care of every cents earned here? Is it possible?

You are allowed to mention sites that earn money. What you aren't allowed to do is any type of spamming. I have listed sites and have not been deleted for naming a site. I have also stated if you have to pay a fee and explain how the site works. That is not against the rules or there is no sense having a interest called making money or earning extra money. I also let people know if a site is a scam so they will stay away and not get scammed. I am not getting any referrals nor do I benefit in any way from any of the information I give out. I am not telling people I will give you the info if you PM me and become a referral for me so I can earn more money. The sites I work on I have to earn everything on my own and again I use no referrals. I am just here to help people and I have info they can use I pass it out. I think everyone who keeps saying you are not allowed to mention a site need to read the rules themselves again. You are right if some people are spamming on here that is not allowed. I don't think they are all new people doing it though. I would have to disagree with you on that. I have seen vets do the same thing.

To be honest, I avoid these topics and move onto something that piques my interest. Most of the get rich quick type discussions are a waste of time and effort as they generally end up deleted. I much prefer to respond to posts from my friends or those in my interests.

Thanks for the response. I understand that you are aloft with "get rick quick" topics and they don't fit your interest (as you have said). I respect you with that. I noticed there are so many veterans here who are not interested in making money online topics. Now, I'd like to hear from those veterans who have earned their status of being veteran through "money related topics".. Anyone here?.. What can you say about these happenings? :)

I used to be active there, but lately, I see some of the discussions and I think that some might get deleted. Furthermore, I'm mainly interested in certain areas like blogging and stuff, so yeah. Don't get me wrong, not all discussions there are potentially will be deleted but when I see a discussion that is violating the rules, I just avoid it.

Oh I have only just seen this! Have you not read the posts by Admin Alice. She has said many times something which many do not yet seem to be aware of. If only a response is a violation then ONLY that response will be deleted and not the whole discussion. If the entire discussion is removed then it was a violation in itself.

You're lucky if you spot a suspected violation early before participating. I mean, when violations occurred in Response No.1, 2 or 3. Then you can avoid it early. But who can tell after the discussion progressed to Response or Comment No. 11, 12 or 13, then suddenly, on the Response No. 14 or 15 there is a violation, there's nothing you can do about it but to wait for your posts and earnings deleted. :-\. I think, MyLot should revise or improve it's rules or policies.. like deleting only the specific response or comment who committed the violation, rather than bringing down the whole discussion, deleting the whole discussion. It's so unfair to previous respondents (response No. 1 to 13) who were diligently following MyLot rules. Am I right? :)

I don't participate in those discussions simply because they don't interest me. Some of them probably are violations, but since I don't look at them, I wouldn't even know.

No. It doesn't discourage me if they don't have something in the discussion that is not allowed. I guess that's what you're asking. If someone down the line in a response does that then it would be them who loses, wouldn't it?

Yes indeed. Only the response that was a violation would be removed and not the whole discussion.

I will post to those categories, as I find lots of knowledge to be gained there, as far as what sites are legit and what aren't. There are however, some, that have been asked and answered many times, and those I avoid most of the time, but it is is a newbie, then I will post knowing full well the discussion will be deleted. I was helped when I first started, and I want to help others as well. Now, I do onl post to the ones tha interest me Alot of the discussions that are repeats, I will just ignore them as I know they will eventually be deleted anyway. I will continue to help nuwibes even though I know I will lose earnings, and hlpefully one of thse days, they will read the faq's before they start posting so as to avoid getting their discussions deleted. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

But that IS what happens. If we are aware of the Guidelines then we know where not to respond. We should be able to see which discussions will be removed and we should also now which ones will stay put.

Thanks for responding. Okay, I see so many people here not interested in making money online activities. Maybe some are interested in flowers, music, lovelife, or whatever... But we cannot deny the fact that there are many of us here, who are interested in making money only. There are no other topics that interest them well but only making money. And there are also those that have wide range of interests like me, interested in guitar, computers, life, family, religion, etc. and at the same time very interested in "making money". I can always avoid those "high risks discussions" but being a frugal person, what bothers me is, I really care for every cents that I've earned here, and that makes me feel sad when my posts and earnings are affected by the mistakes of others. My point is, MyLot should delete only the specific violator response, not the whole discussions. Can you feel what I feel right now? Empathy? :)

nope. actually I dont have any hesitations in any discussions as long as it interests me. If you're guided by the rules of mylot you won't have any problems.

Thanks. That's a good attitude: as long as you are guided by the rules of MyLot, there's nothing to worry about. But for those who care about their posts and earnings, every post and every cent earned is very important to us. Yes, we enjoy online friendships here, but we also value every result of our efforts (our posts). How would you feel if you are like us, and you are following MyLot rules religiously, then suddenly down the line, a violator came, posted some violations, then the whole discussion ended up deleted including the post and cents that you have earned from that discussion? How would you feel?
