Now a days yoga is popular.Yoga is an ancient method to heal body and mind. It's popular by Ramdev in India and around the world. The guru of yoga is Patanjali. Some people said it's not for sick people. I have seen more sick people practices yoga to heal themselves. For whom yoga is suitable? And what age group? Share.

For me, yoga helps human body healthy. Healthy mind, spirit, holistically. No doubt, this is one of the hobbies that body conscious people practice. But sad to say, I am not one of them. :) I don't practice yoga for meditating.

I think Yoga and meditation is not same thing. meditation is complete different thing. Yoga is about doing , meditation is just about not to do anything. It's a no mind state. Share?

Hi vine88! I am not an expert on yoga, but from the my limited experiences and th experiences of my more enlightened friends and family, I have this answer: Yoga for sick people: This really does depend on the general sickness and healthiness of a person. Since yoga is about the body and mind, meditations would be the best form of yoga for a sick or elderly person. Of course, mild yoga would be suitable as well, depending on the limitations of the sick. Age group yoga: I think anybody with basic motor control is able to do yoga. My coworker's 8 year old son is currently taking a yoga class after school. To make yoga more appealing, the whole family could do yoga together. I have even heard that some of my friends have tried pet yoga with their dogs! So you see, yoga is apparently suitable for everyone. I hope this helps! -classicemcegy79

I have heard a lot about Yoga... The first thing is that it is kind of an exercise... And we know that exercise doesn't give any negative effects. Yoga is suitable for all kinds of people, sick/healthy or young/old or man/woman... Anyone can do it... It is simple, helpful and good for health... :)

Yoga is suitable for all age groups, from children to adults. It should be practised from a young age in order to be healthy for the rest of one's life. Yoga is very helpful for sick people, many people have been miraculously cured of their illnesses with regular practice of yoga. It works from within to cure every ailment and refreshes both the body and the mind. It is very important to include yoga in one's daily routine of life. It really is a wonderful art coming down through ages. I do it everyday and have got the results since I started practising it regularly.

Hi vine Yoga is not only for the sick or the weak - you yourself have partly answered that question of yours- it actually means the 'union of body & mind'- it is for everyone and for all age groups, anyone who can understand that means any child who can understand (normally after 6 years age) and by regularly practising it brings the body and mind in good form -strengthening the internal organs too along with calming the mind- something like meditation. And in the real sense of yoga practise no force is used as in many yoga classes it is observed that if you cannot attain an asana ( posture) force is used which is against the yoga principle.

Yoga is one of the very best methods for overall health, strength and spiritual growth. I myself practice yoga about once every week. I got to say that it truly is a relaxing and stimulating experience. I feel more clear and fresh when I awake every morning because of yoga. Next month I plan to raise my frequency to doing yoga 4 days a week.

Hi vine88, I practice YOGA and Pranayam as per Patanjali Yoga. Yoga can be practiced by any age group people as well sick as well as normal people. Patanjali stress on PRanayam more. Pranayam is typical way in which Air is inghalled andexhelled, to derive specific benefits. Then there are yoga asanas which a typical postures for exercising particular Part of body. If Pranayam and YOGa is practiced by healthy person it will help in maintaining good health, and practiced by sick people, depending on weather proper Pranayam.YOGA is practiced the sick will see improvement in his condition. In my case I am able to keep my cholestorol level withing limit by practicing pranayam and YOGA. I have also initiated one discussion on YOGa, wher u may like to offer your views. Happy Lotting:)
