Now I hope you dont feel as if you will be jinxed by talking about your near death experiences but indulge us if you can.In addition if you feel this is too tarumatic for you then you can pass ok ,lol. I will start the ball roliing by telling you of teh time I was nearly killedNow when I was a wee lad say about fourteen or so my mother sent me to the neighbouring community to purchase some items for her.I decided that I would take a shortcut to get there (By the way I live in the country). On reaching the end of the shortcut where it leads back to a paved road I stopped to allow a vehicle to pass before going on the road. Now I noticed at the instant I stopped an elderly getleman had moved from where he was to stand beside me .I didnt make much of it because I ahd seen him before and he seemed pretty normal and no warning signs went off in my head when I saw him with a very sahrp machette( a tool used for cutting down plants in a garden or a farm ).To cut a long story short I must have stood on the side walk for about three minutes when I saw a zip in my periperals,at the time I thought it was a dragonfly or some other insect but later I would have learned that I was very lucky to be alive because the gentleman had swung his machette at me and if he had connected ,I would be an headless corpse somewhere . Anyone has any such stories they feel commfortable to share?

Four years ago I had an accident and my family was told I had 3 hours to live. Well I survived but I had broken my back in three places and was told I would never walk again. I came home from the rehabilitation nursing home able to walk again, four months after my accident, and able to take of myself. That was a miracle and another miracle was that I had been unconscious for at least two days before I was found and this was because my dogs were howling so much that my neighbors investigated and I was rushed to the hospital. So my dogs really saved my life.

WHEN i was 3years old, i got rubber stuck in my nose when playing with one. it could have been easy getting it out, but for the fact that i did not understand the fact of blowing things out of your nose. instead i kept drawing it in. i was taking to a clinic and the rubber removed with a sharp pointed surgical scissors. also, when i was 5years old. i almost lost my life but saved by the grace of God. i was returning from school with another of my brother. it was raining heavily that day. after waiting for so long for the rain to stop, we decided to go home in the rain. every where was slippery. walking close to a drainage, i slipped off the ground and landing inside the drainage. the flood was so much that i was been washed away if not for the timely intervention of a passer-by. i woke up on a hospital bed to be told how i was saved.

Wow, you were lucky indeed! I guess my closest call was a multicar pileup on the interstate. There were 5 cars and two semi trucks. I was hit from behind by a truck going 70 mph. My gas tank ruptured and I was thrown into the steering wheel. Luckily another driver rushed over and got me out of my car before it caught fire.

Wow, that was too close for comfort! The only incident I can think of is when I was driving home from my parents’ house with the groceries I had just purchased and a red car cut off in front of me from the other lane and in order to avoid a collision I swerved around it, my car spun, I ended up facing the opposite direction and came to a halt within a centimetre from a lamppost. I hurt my ankle and there were groceries all over the car including smashed eggs but I was okay. It wasn’t until the Police arrived that it was pointed out to me how close I had come to the lamppost and if there had been cars travelling on the opposite side of the road I would have been badly hurt or killed; ‘bloodbath was the word the Policeman used. By the way the guy who cut me off was never caught.

Well there was one time when I was younger and swimming. And I thought I could swim much better than I really good. A rather bad combination to be sure but I was young and a bit naive. Therefore, I went in the deep end of the pool. A bit too deep, as I came perilously close to drowning. Thankfully, I was not under for too long but it was a scary experience and time froze. Had the people around not reacted quickly, well its not like I would be sharing this story right now, would I? Also, there were points where I was so violently ill that I felt like I was going die. Perhaps I was over dramatizing the situation? Perhaps, that is a strong possibility but there was one time where I felt like I might not have pulled through. Thankfully I did, but it was not fun. Then again, when is feeling like you might die, fun?
