I love Mylot but sometimes I wonder why I start discussions....

Sweetie, you have to relax. These things take time. Tomorrow you will post and you will get a lot of responses. Don't think about how many you will get. Don't give up. Just enjoy yourself. TATA.

I can completely understand. Despite the number of "friends" I have on here, I have a surprisingly lack of response for every discussion I have started. Some have no responses at all. Others, a handful. A very few have more than ten responses. So it makes me wonder what the point even is. And it's not even that mine are things that only a few certain people could really post about. I mean, like, only so many people could reply to one where, say, if I asked for responses from only those who could speak French. Not that I would, but just as an example.

Never give up. Keep creating discussions that you think might bring on the interests of others and you'll definitely see some change. Go for it, I'm sure you've done well so far, so keep it going..

I don't know, why not talk about things in your own life? That works for me and does pretty well. And shhh but I actually kind of like the attention. lol

Sometimes I feel the same way, so I can relate, especially when I see a discussion that is similar to one that I have already started and that one has a ton of responses while mine has very few. It is even worse if the similar discussion is not very well-written (meaning they do not seem to have put a lot of thought and effort into the discussion), and I put a lot of thought and effort into mine. When this happens, I just keep doing posting and responding to discussions and take comfort in the fact that I have good friends on here, and I am earning a little extra money, too.

Yes of course. I think every body here had their fair share of no-response. Well not really none but I not just that overwhelming compared to some discussions previously raised. It's ok for me. I've no problems with that. As long as let it out in the open and had quite responses that's about enough for me.

Sometimes I wonder if people are getting their discussion notifications. I read a couple of the last ones you started, but I didn't have any advice. With friend's discussions, I try to think of something to add, but if I can't come up with something that doesn't sound stupid, I don't reply to them.

Honestly I think everyone here on MyLot has experienced this at one time or another! Some discussions get responses like hot fire while others take forever to even get a few! I think your discussions are great! Keep up the good work!

BlueAngel you already have 601 so not doing too bad, just post to us a lot so we see your name, for instance I have never seen it and you have never responded to any of my discussions so I would not know you but if you were to respond to a lot of mine or anyone elses like that and I saw your name, I would think wow blueangel really is a great poster so I will have to look up her or his discussions and post to them, we have to see each others names so as to get asquainted then we c an respond more, just get out here and be seen a lot and you will get responses also get as many friends as you can as they will really help to g et responses. but do not think you get paid for our responses no you only get paid is you comment on our responses we all get paid for what we o ur selves post not for what others do. okay.

I am right there with you, I guess we hit some and miss some.I have days where I am better at responding then starting. But, I sure do love mylot to. And reguardless if my discussion is answered to or not I am gonna keep on typeing lol At least I get it out what ever it is. And I feel better. It's like talking to yourself which I do alot of anyways! So keep on mylotting!

Welcome to my world! I have been on Mylot over a year and this happens to me all the time! I come up with good discussions and like you get no responses! If I do get responses to discussions I ususally get very few! I'm still looking for a discussion I can come up with that will get mega hits! I'm here mostly to make money. I like Mylot but never will love it! I've had it rough on Mylot!

Welcome to my world! I have alot of discusions that never got responses. On most discussions I have I am lucky to get a few responses! The most I got was on why I hate rain days and it was 34 responses! I'm still looking for a discussion or more that has more hits then that!

That's funny, I've only started one discussion and I got dozens of responses - guess it depends on what you are discussing?

Ok, first, don't worry if you don't get a lot of responses, everyone on here goes through dry spells. I will though give you a couple of tips that might help. Topics--You want to pick topics that a lot of ppl can relate to, ones that are interesting or fun. Springs coming up so think about fun things to do with that. Things like do you go barefoot in the Spring, what's the best part of Spring, what kinds of things are you going to plant in your garden. The thing is to give ppl a topic that they can relate to. Friends--Most ppl on here don't realize how important friends are. Friends on here are the foundation of your sucess. It's simple really. The more friends you have, the more ppl get notified about your discussions, the more responses you get. I went and looked at your friends page, you have 81 friends...I have over 3000...no matter what topic I do, I generally get a lot of responses. Also you said you've been gone for a while, ppl will tend to delete you if you haven't been on in a while. Go to some of the more popular discussions and start finding friends, respond to some of their discussions and add them as friends. Notifiers--Make sure to turn all your notifiers on and respond to as many discussions as you can. The more ppl see your name on the Lot the more they will be adding you. Friends Discussions--When you get a new friend request, if you accept it, go through their first 2-3 pages of Started Discussions and see if there are any that you want to respond to. I hope some of this helps...Don't worry about it. MyLot is a lot of fun and once ppl see you're back on again they'll be running to your discussions left and right. I guess thats the same way i do things over here on mylot i dont start many discussions but try to take part in as many as i can... I try to select topics on which i can really contribute something just like the mylot TOS said lol but thats the way i do things out here ... i sometimes post some discussions but those are nothing serious just a few questions i have been pondering on... good to have a few more people thinking over it ..

Don't be bothered too much. Everyone has experienced the time that he fails to get many responses to his discussion. It does't mean that your discussions are boring or something. It's just because other people have not much interest in the topic. I myself had started several discussions but never got more than ten responses except for one. It discouraged me badly. So i prefer to respond to other discussions rather than start my own.

Hi BlueAngelRS! You better stop feeling a bit upset for you have lots of responses now! Sometimes it really happens... I have few zero responses topics too but I don't mind that much for I know that there are almost 200 thousand members of mylot and surely many of them post discussions too... And we are super many... considering that fact too one mylotter posts more than one discussion per day... The thing is we are able to voice out and share our thoughts and ideas... You can keep a track of the kind of discussions that get attention but this should not worry you unduly as number of responses will not raise your points or earnings but your participation will. Responding to discussions to the best of your ability and commenting on responses that you receive constitute a major part of the exercise here.
