When you go to sleep do you put music on? I never do that, I heard it isn't good, because if you put music on and go to sleep your brain wont be completely sleeping... What about you?

I don't listen to music when I sleep at night. But when I take afternoon naps, I always turn on the radio and tune in to the mellow jazz station. Most are instrumental music so I won't have to worry trying to not pay attention to lyrics. The music is very calming and when I wake up from the nap, I get a very calm and peaceful mood that I can't get from anywhere else. I guess listening to music while sleeping depends on once preferences.

I used to do it once upon a time. I would set my radio to my favorite station and keep the sleep timer on and drift off to sleep. I used to wake up very very relaxed the next morning. Now a days I am so exhausted by bedtime that I just fall on the bed and immediately fall asleep. I am sure if I keep music on before I will have a more relaxed sleep but I do not have the energy for it.

Yes, I need music to sleep. If you turn it off on me, I wake up.. I need to hear the lyrics as I dream - it's weird because I really CAN hear them. That's how I Know when somebody turns it off. lol!

I used to do it. I use my cellphone's headset and usually I fall asleep while its playing songs. I stopped it when I realized I am having a little hearing problem.

sometimes i prefer to listen to soft or instrumental music that can help me to sleep just to distract my mind from thinking too much as theres a lot of thought that keep on coming in and out from my mind and o i need to distract them with music. i like instrumental music and just ply it with lower volume as i feel like im sleeping on the clouds and that those angels are like singing me lullaby for me to sleep

I do not really put music on in the background when I decide to go to sleep. However, I do put it on sometimes when I am laying down and resting when I decide to take a nap when I feel ill. Since I am just laying down and resting and not really doing that much heavy sleeping, I find that it will relax me and allow me to get some rest. Plus it will take my mind off of my sickness. However, I do agree that it is not a good idea to put on the music when you are really sleeping. You will be focusing on the music and not really focusing on the sleep. Therefore, it will be distracting and not all relaxing. Light napping is one thing but heavy sleeping is another thing entirely. Therefore when its time for me to go to bed, the music goes off.

I agree it isn't good, but I do sometimes anyway. I find that when I can't sleep, putting on some soft music helps my fall asleep faster, though I don't do it that often, because sometime after I wake up in the morning and feel like I only slept for an hour or something, so it kind of back-fires on me.

I usually only do when I can't sleep. But usually it's classical music or just sounds like the ocean or rain. Upbeat music would not help me go to sleep at all!

Yes, sometimes i even fall asleep with my headset on. ;p I love listening to music. I'm the type of person who never went out of the house without wearing his headset or earphones on. Its my way of escaping from the problems of life as well. Every time I listen to my music, it calms me down and helps me forget my problems and takes the stress away. that is why I do believe in the saying, "No Music. No Life."
