Marrying Plants and trees...

this is an abstract situation in many asian countries where people make two trees to marry. This happens as their belief that tree lives happy and grow fast due to other trees in its vicinity. Some places it is also followed as a retual... till which extemt should one support this ... since this does not cause any harm to anyone but is generating a misconseption... Do you think this should carry on ? Should this go on a long run ? is this ethical.... arent we destroying the generl awareness of people ?
