Hi friends- I am having this problem; something wrong with my ISP server and down for last 2 days & as this is a weekend I will have to wait till Monday to get it in order - so now I am using my friend's till this is restored Only after this incident I realised that what important standing the Internet has. What about you- can you spend a day or two without the internet?? And I do not mean when you are on a holiday.!!

I recently spent 4 months with no net connection while renting a room after a relationship breakup. The most dull four months of my adult life! To me a net connection is far more important than a telephone or TV set.

Yes I can see that.....But now that I've had the net back it's not as important to me anymore I still enjoy my shows and tv but my daughter loves her treehouse on demand so if I lost the net now I would be lost lol HappyMylotting.

Hi uday, Now it is difficult to sit without internet and it plays and important role in our life. Without net connection how can we do mylot and how can we check mails. I will feel bad if my net connection is down so I won’t waste a minute to contact the particular person to restore the connection. If the problem is a big one then it may take one or two days to restore if it is minor they can restore it within minute after getting the call. If there is not much work in office then it really create problems (without internet).

I agree - in the office without internet work comes to a standstill- most of the work is done on the net from correspondence to research and commerce.

I love internet too, but depends on my to do list, I may be offline for a weeks and this doesn't concern me at all. Even with this online holiday I feel better with more time for our beautiful nature :)

hi! i really don't know, because nowadays I use the internet for many purposes and the most important of them is to contact my friends and my family. I can do it through the mobile phone too, but it will be really very expensive because I am accustomed to cal them via skype every day, sometimes several times per day, and I really think, that it will miss me much about this thing! so maybe I could not live with out it, if they don't develop some new free calling technology :)

Nowadays it would be difficult, but I think I can manage it. Living without Internet is not so difficult. The Internet is not so vital or life-asserting, so everyone could live without it. It is more entertaing and helps communicating ourselves and be more open-minded and informed about the world around us, but I do not think it is something so important in life. Before 1991 people lived without it so it won't be so hard living without an Internet Connection. It is just an acquisition we have for the past 2 decades. Something that would not fade out in time so easily :)

I know but once you get used to a certain thing then life without that becomes difficult too, and I do not think it will fade out at a ll on the contrary it will improve the technology as it is becoming very important in all aspects

I have been without the internet and I missed it a lot but I could live without it. I managed to go through my day before I got the internet I'm sure I could do it again. I've slowed my poetry writing down and read less books because of being able to go online. So if I no longer had the internet I'd go back to writing and reading again.

Well at first it was okay for me not to have an internet connection because I can always check out on some information through television, newspapers, magazines, etc. But after my dad set-up an internet connection in our home, I find it hard to do some research without the internet. It seems like my security blanket, cannot live without it. The good thing about internet is I can have my research done in less than an hour, and can also make some profits while I'm on line.

As I mentioned in some comment it is especially good & much faster for research or reference besides getting the latest info.

I think I would be able to survive without the Internet for a couple of days, but I would surely miss it very much. I mean, I would have some things to do on my PC offline too, but I am so used to surfing the Internet every day, talking with my friends or socializing here on myLot. It would definitely hard to handle.

I am 34 and I have lived almost half of my life with no internet connection! So I would say I would be able to live without it as long as I have the television and books, then, I will definitely survive! I am not totally dependent on the internet as this thing can go anytime. Its hard to be dependent on some relative thing, you know. :)

i guess no, and believe me even if i only have last money on hand i rather want to pay it for my internet bill just to have an internet connection. i dont know but for me internet really helps for my depression and boredom. it makes my mind be busy with mylot or other site that i forgot about my personal problem in life.

Up to a few years ago, I would have said, "yes", I can live without internet service. But now, I do all my bill paying, banking, investing, and a heck of a lot of communicating (which I could do by phone if all else failed) via the internet. So, "no", today it would be extremely difficult to live without the internet. And just not internet, it has to be high-speed internet that stays up 99% of the time. I just changed my ISP because I was being "wind blown" off the net (I have wireless) with my old provider. With the new provider, I've been up 100% of the time thus far. When I'm on vacation, I don't have access to the internet. It freaks me out a little at first, but then I start vacationing and forget all about it.

Its good that the speed are improving by the day; and this was the first time in all these years that the ISP server had a glitch.

hi there! Hmm...I had spent days without internet connection and electricity. So I guess I can live without internet at all but, it will definitely lose my sanity and I'll be so sad if it happens.

I think that I can't live without internet. Fortunately, in case of having any problem with my internet connection, I can use internet at work or at the school, so I know that I won't have to pass through that, but just to think about it makes me shudder. I guess I'm an internet addict
