Buy Something for Reasons Other than Wanting It?

Have you ever bought something not because you really wanted or needed it, but for another reason? For example, perhaps you want to support your friend's book, to encourage a store to keep carrying a certain product category, to impress onlookers or the cashiers, or to censor something you don't like?

yes I always buy the cookies in subway just because I see them.

Usually when there is a candy bar or pizza sale when neighborhood kids knock on the door and ask me to buy stuff. It usually goes towards the school or a school trip or something
