Suckah is off the hook...

Well it really wasn't the best of times to be taking on the responsibility for another cat right now anyway... Bronx/Bandit, whatever his name is, and his brother got adopted yesterday. I was sad when I heard it, but happy too. I wanted to take one of them home with me, and I actually brought the carrier with me today so that I could, but it's probably better that they got adopted together anyway. Clyde was sure working me today though. Suckah!

Oh Dawn, I can just imagine you taking that carrier in specially, bless your kind heart. I'm glad you are happy for the cat in question though...and I am too. When we adopted Flojo we had seen practically every cat in the shelter before her. There was a boy cat that was a bit smelly and bedraggled and you cannot believe how guilty I felt not adopting him! I thought about it for days afterwards. Thinking to myself "how dare you overlook a moggy that's a bit..er, different!" In hindsight though, we did the right thing as Flojo is a lovely cat (well, most of the time). I only hope the cat we rejected got re-homed. Fortunately, there is a no-kill policy there so I'm sure someone would take him on.

If they took good care of him, he probably got washed and plumped up a bit and somebody adopted him...

Whew, that was a close one. The last cat I wanted to adopt, off the street, I described to my niece who immediately said she wanted him. Then conveniently the kitty got in the car and loved up my hubby. My niece did not really need a new cat, but in a way she did for my great niece. The teen kept having all of her rodents die, and at least this way Jasper will survive well cause there are two other cats and they fend for themselves better than pets in cages do. Jasper is a Manx, with long silver gray hair and was starving and very ill. He is now an indoor cat and is in kitty heaven.

You're as soft hearted (or is it headed?) as I am!!! I could get in real trouble with adopting cats especially when I foster cats and kittens. There is always a trouble maker in each litter that I fall in love with...but with the litters going to a non kill shelter I don't feel as badly about letting them go to a different place. After all with the four inside cats and the four semi feral cats that I have it's kind of a stretch on the budget at times. It's great that the pair got adopted together. They have company they know and it will make the transition much easier. It was that way with Willy and Khuay. It made adopting the pair a piece of cake as they would curl up together and snooze (they're sleeping on my feet right now...my toes are numb from the weight of two full grown boy cats laying on them...its 30 pounds of cats!). At least you are off the hook for the moment...except for Clyde. Humm you keep falling for the little boys !

That little girl may have been having a bad day, I know my Murphy has bad days and I learned quick when she is in the grouchy mood I leave her alone and let her nap the grouches away. She also could be like Murph and hate traveling. When Murphy finds out that she is going somewhere she panics and then gets so upset that she gets sick and gets the squirts. After I get her home she is such a crab that NO ONE goes near her for about a week. Okay, so you are as soft hearted as I am, it doesn't matter if it's boys or girls...as long as they have fur and purr!

There was this beautiful little girl, looked just like my Pounce, but she didn't like me so much, she got a bit grouchy with me. Clyde was really working me though.

Hi dawnald, Sad you didn't get to keep them or one of them, still it is much better that theyare adopted together, I have two cats, "Baby" and "Tom" they are ten years old know and i have been tempted to get another cat but it won't be fair to these two, Tom is always stuck to me like glue, another cat won't do. I'm sorry you couldn't get the cat, but its good he was adopted and with a friend. At least he won't be loney and will be able to adapt faster with a cat he already knows. But, its kind of cute when animals are like that though.

I remember these names, but cant remember why these cats need adopting? But Im very glad good homes were found for them. It is very easy to be tempted to have more cats, as I love them too, but we can really only have so many.

They were adopted together as kittens. The owner went through a divorce and couldn't keep them. Then somebody else adopted them and brought them back, not sure the reason...

Aw hun, I'm glad they were adopted into a loving home, even though you were all ready to take on another little feline. It's good to hear they are both together too, and that they will be happy

hi dawnald told you you should have taken him, but seriously it is good that the two got adopted together. but look at that' plea in Clyde's eyes, he really wants you Dawn.he he. well' maybe it is not the right time, later when things are more stable .But you keep on being a suckah as they are needed for the poor little kittens with nobody to love them.

It's alway heart warming to here animals getting new home, instead of remaining in the shelter or being put down. Glad you didn't have to take them this time.

Oh, I would have been disappointed too but, as you say, at least they have a new home and they will be together which is lovely. People who come to shelters to find their pets almost always give them good homes so I’m sure that both the cats will be fine. It wasn’t meant to be with this one, maybe there will be another feline for you down the track.
