Oscar Night

What I night! History was made! Congrads to Kathryn! Way to go! And I was sooo happy for Jeff Bridges and Sandra! But for the show itself , this was the first time I was bored and not entertained! Usually the musical numbers are ok and the host, yes just one host, is funny Most of the time. But last night , both Steve and Alec had few and far between funny moments. I think it would have been better if one would have hosted and the other didn't. But which? As for the musical numbers. The movements of the dancers and the music didn't really match for me. Your thoughts.

I agree, I was also very happy for Jeff and Sandra and it was GREAT to FINALLY see a woman win for Best Director! I also agree about the show. I like both Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin but their performance was disappointing, not that it was necessarily all their fault. It was the complete opposite of last year's show which I thought was one of the best ever. Hugh Jackman was fantastic as host, the musical numbers were very entertaining and the format of having five past winners present in each of the acting categories was great, in my opinion. This year I have to admit I didn't sit and watch the whole thing. I was here online off and on and listening for something important to happen. Annie

Yes, I sure do! He was a fantastic host. Remember when Jack Palance did the one-handed push-ups and Billy kept talking about him the rest of the night? Thanks for the BR!! Annie

I was pretty bored with it too, although I really do like Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin. I would have like to see Meryl Streep get something. I've also enjoyed her as an actress.

Hi Sarah, I and what seems to be about 60% of the population agree with you. I didn't hate Steve and Alex but I wasn't enthralled with them either. I would have liked to hear more of the soundtrack from Crazy Hearts for one. Ben Stiller got points for trying with his avatar makeup. I would have liked to have seen a couple of the things I heard were cut out or not allowed. I guess we just have to console ourselves that the awards seemed to go where they should this year.

I heard Roger Ebert's picks on Oprah and he was 100% correct. I piggy backed on his picks without really remembering. It was good to see Kathryn win.
