fASTING IS THE SPIRITUAL S=DISCIPLINE OF ABSTAINING FOOD FOR A SET PERIOD OF TIME IN ORDER TO DEVOTE OUR HEARTS AND MINDS TO SPIRITUAL MATTERS. I myself, consider a one-two or three day period of no radio, TV or other noise in my life to focus my whole heart, soul and mind with God

My usual way is to abstain from eating the whole day, but i take in liquids to sustain my glucose as I work the whole day. I pray and read the bible during the breaks, Like noon time and during dinner , as well as in betweens. I guess almost all religions has fasting in there teachings. I fast for focus not to twist God's hands. His will is already definite it is just the mind to be aligned.

The essence of fasting is really giving up something really important to you for a period of time so that you can focus on glorifying God. It's not only food that we abstain from, it can any form for as long as we sacrifice something that is of value to us. We all have our own ways of fasting. Personally, I abstain from using my favorite electronic devices like the PC and game consoles, and dedicate the time i would otherwise spend for leisure into meditation, bible reading and prayer.

Hello, I don't fast as I personally don't think I need to fast in order to be a devotee. I have spent a few months in my life practicing total abstinence. The things I write here, the way that I think and live are just the products of those few months' constant effort. I was desperate then. I don't do it anymore, still the faith I've acquired on those days, haven't left me since. God bless you

We fast once a month for 24 hours. We do it every first Sunday of the month. We eat lunch on Saturday and the next meal we are going to eat is during lunch on the following day and that is Sunday. We open our fast with a prayer and tell God the purpose why you are having a fasting. During that 24 hours, we dont eat candies or bread, no water either, no nothing. Its normal to feel hungry but you can always divert your mind of the thought for food. When we fast we dont tell or show people that we are having our fasting. We should act normal and just have that solemnity within. After 24 hours, we close our fasting with a prayer before we eat again. We also give an offering to the church. We give the estimated amount we would spend in two meals. We believe that fasting is a good way to get closer to God and be more sensitive with the promptings of the spirit. It is a commandment that we follow. If we obey, then we will be blessed. If we dont, that means we are depriving ourselves of the blessings that God wants to give us.

Fasting for me is giving up something that you normally use or eat or whatever, even for just a day or the whole Lenten season. Me, I give up meat on Fridays and avoid softdrinks, tv, and internet on Good Friday and reflect on Jesus' sacrifice on the the cross to save us all. It makes me feel refreshed in recollecting about all this.
