How to avoid depression?

In this troubled world sometimes we can't help not to experienced depression, our work and relationship were often the major source of our depression. Do you know any ways to avoid feeling of depression? How you fight with depression?

One needs to gear up ones nervous system to face day to day problems as you will see there are so many despite serious problems can face them without getting into depression. Meditation is one such therapy which can strengthen one mentally and so also some yoga breathing exercises.

Yeah, we all need to keep our immune system on it's higher level in order to fight days stress and troubles and pain. Meditation and yoga were known to help release stress and depression and of course controlling our negative thoughts and always have positive one, as thoughts could really make us feel bitter or better. Thank you for the advice, it was really helpful. I'm actually stressed out because of my studies and sometimes I don't have the time to relax and unwind. I'll definitely give meditation a go.

Life is always up and down and not a bed of roses. I do always encounter the feeling of getting depressed and upset sometimes in life especially I'm a person quite emotional. I hate crying and feel upset. I agree that sometimes our emotion is beyond our control when you repress yourself too much over alot of pressure and negative emotion in yourself then you might collapse anytime. Then there is when the depression attacks you. For myself, I will really do nothing because I'm too upset and have no mood to do anything. I will continue sleeping. In fact, it really affects my daily life during depression period. However, after sometimes then I have to tell myself to do something for myself like doing some work out, think positive, watching tv, listening to music. Reading is also a good way and effective for myself to be focused and avoid distraction from other negative feelings inside me. If you're able to find some trustworthy friends then you can try to confide to them. However, for my case I will think it's not that easy to get a good listener as not all the people have the patience and sincerity to listen to your problem. If you have then you have to appreciate that person.

What is really important when were depressed is we didn't let our self drown into depression, as we do something for our self to fight with it. It could be fine that in your case when you're depressed you feel and experience but then later you do something about it. Unlike other people when they're depressed they forget their life and their self and let depression ruin their life. I agree with you, it could not be easy to find a person who will sincerely listen to us but if you will try to find I'm sure they're just around the corner, the problem the persons willingness to accept that he/she needs other, to accept that he/she is weak and need for help. Because there are many people I know who are too proud or scared to ask for others help. It's not bad to be vulnerable sometimes. Anyway thank you for sharing with us and enjoy your day!

When I was seriously attacked by illness, I choose to face it. Perhaps alot of people as you mentioned, they are too proud or too scared of facing the truth. I know myself very well very emotional and know about the cause of everything. I cannot rely on myself and too weak to walk out from the illness. Thus, I seek for consultation from doctor. Alot of people might think there is no such need. But I see there is a need for myself and I need to walk out from the illness ASAP since I try so hard and my best already but the progress was slow and not stable.If you really want to recover and you cannot just depend on your own strength and needs others. Try to seek for it. Of course I know the best remedy is myself, I have to take the step walking out from the darkness and open the door myself. Nobody can help you if you're not willing to do so. I know It's easy to say than done. My doctor is very caring and gives alot of advice. After taking the medicine with consultation, I really can see the progress was getting better. My doctor said the illness is just similar to any other illness such as fever, coughing, flu etc. If you're sick getting fever or cold, you will see doctor and get medicine. It is same goes to depression as well. All the people are different, so the remedy will be vary to each individual. It's good for you to seek for the best and most suitable remedy for yourself to get recovery ASAP.

Become a problem to problem - This is the key! Fix up a place where you get utmost soothing peace... think well how to solve the situation. Take a piece of paper & pen. Make a list of things with which you are happy up to that moment. Analyze what made you to feel so happy..Try to find out the reason for which you were happy for all those things.. and then do the same for existing.. Well, depression is independent of problems. I guess, depression comes if you are too idle. Another way is to use anti-depression tablets.

Taking medications could be helpful if the case is really necessary like in what happens to you. Since there are different kind of depressions. As for me, as much as possible it's not good to take any kind of medications as there's tendency that one gonna rely on it. Anyway I hope you'll get through with depression. The best way to avoid depression is trying to focus less on the negatives and more on everything that is positive. You would be surprised exactly how much is positive in our life, but when we see those negatives, they tend to mask what we believe to be good in life. We only see what is wrong with our lives and what is wrong, seems to be very wrong. That can lead to us being down and being down is the gateway to what depression is. There is just sometimes where you have to step back and avoid everything for a short time. Just long enough to appreciate everything that is good in life and not dwell the negative. Obviously burying the issues will not be good but it is not necessarily good to try and deal with them before we are ready to either. Depression can manifest into something more serious.

Yeah, you're right we need not to focus on negativity, we need to change our mind and our focus on positive things in life. On blessings that we receive each day, on the gift of life we have and of course the people who still love and care for us. We need to open our heart and mind in order not be drown onto the river of depression. We need to swim across the ocean of uncertainty and live our life. First describe the origin of your depression. Why are you depressed? When are you depressed? Then start plotting the result. The result will give you the answer. Eliminate it or exclude it in your daily life. Also you must appreciate little things that life brings. Mingle with other people. Don't isolate yourself. Share, Don't be selfish. Smile and feel the air in the early morning sun. Start the day good. ^^

Yeah, you're right when we're depressed we need to reach out others and do something, keeping our self in a corner will worsen the feeling of depression. We need to count our blessing each day and be grateful for it. There are so many other reasons that will makes us happy, so many things that we can do to solve every problems and everything in this world shall pass away. when i got hurt and went from sitting ontop of the world still getting paid. then to having no money and almost losting my house a few times. we need to remember it could be worst, and there is someone else out there have it alot worst then you do. and thing will work out sooner or later. and if it get worst still keep faith that it will get better

You're right, sometimes we fail to realized that there are many other people who have bigger problems that ours that it takes time for us to see and realized how lucky we are. We need to forget our problems and worries and think about others, in that way we will see that we do have a reason to live and we can do something about it and one day we will get over with all the pain we experienced. hi! WEll, nowadays depression is one of the most known "diseases".many people suffer from it because of some stress at work, quarrels with family or friends, problems with the partner or some misunderstanding, or something else. i mostly listen to some music or read some book when I feel that I am falling into depression. These both things really makes me forget all my worries and enjoy the day! I also meet my best friends if I can, when I am depressed! you must try it too, just to see how helpful it is!

no, you can't avoid depression..all you can do is to manage it because being depressed is a part of our daily lives. Try spending your time with your loved ones or do some pleasurable things that you might enjoy. Go to beach or any beautiful places to give you peace of mind.

Yeah, you're right spending time with our family and close friends doings the things that we enjoy could really help us fight with depression. Hey friends, what do we mean depression? Its mind stop thinking, we avoid the world. Depression is the most common problem with people these days. I personally feel that any one engaged in several activities or has a negative thinking will surely be effected with depression. The best doctor is he himself..... keep yourself relax for sometime in the day. This time is yours and do not give any single second to others - enjoy yourself ,be with yourelf -do what every you like (it is left to your taste),try to take maximum benefit of this time because it is yours alot some time for this activity. And,see the results - you should surely avoid depression.

Yeah, you're right we are the one who can avoid and cure depression since it's all in our mind and we can control it. We just need to be aware and change our focus, do something to make our self relax and happy. Depression is a problem and the worst thing we can do in every problem is to sit down and do nothing. Health care professionals tell us that exercising a few times a week helps alleviate the symptoms of depression. Eating a healthy diet, avoiding an overload of sugars and fat also help. For some reason too much sugar can affect our mood. When something happens that makes you feel depressed, do not let it consume you. Think positively instead of negatively. Very well said rosegardens! I absolutely agree with what you mentioned. We can do a lot to prevent our self from being drown into depression. I believe with exercise, healthy foods and positive mind were the best thing we can do for our self. No matter what kind of depression, sure those things will help a lot.
