No, this isn't a joke. I have a link to the FBO.gov website (real us govt site), showing a well...not sure what to call it...purchse solitication? for 27 shot guns. anyone know what to make of this? I posted the first part of the page as a primer but you should follow the link and read the whole thing (i guess). It just struck me as bizzare. THAT is truly weird...even for here in Hooterville that would be weird. I have no clue why the Dept. of Education would be soliciting bids on weapons but doesn't being in possession of them violate federal law or is the Dept. of Ed. allowed to have it's own SWAT team?

Check this out. The IRS is interested in buying 60 of them. Now, that I MIGHT be able to understand: https://www.fbo.gov/index?s=opportunity&mode=form&id=8d3b076bd4de14bbda5aba699e80621d&tab=core&_cview=1&cck=1&au=&ck=

Actually the IRS wanting them is equally as strange since IRS agents are NOT suposed to be armed.

I can see the IRS because they do have some agents who make raids and need to be armed. It is a select group and highly trained.

lmao delivery to Chicago?! well I think that explains it. Of course in this sloicitation it does not explain its intended use. I would think it would be for a class if it was in Texas. But Illinois, I guess for the teachers uniforms?

X this is where I believe the federal government can save some money. Education is where big waste happens. to be educated a kids needs books and determination and an environment free from bullies and enough to eat. Discipline must be enforced and here is a change that should be made. There should be officers of the state or government that consistent goes to the home and make reports and talks to the parent about what they can do to help. This is the area where big improvements can be made.

Well, I hope they they plan on using the shotguns if they are planning to buy them! I work in education as see much lost in funds...wasted, just like every other governmental unit. Hmm, how about this..send the shotguns to the teachers during parent teacher conferences and display them in away to indicate that parents need to stop being their child's 'buddy' and start acting like parents!

Wow, that is bizarre. I guess since their email address is listed, they can be contacted and asked about it. I highly doubt there would be answer though.

Who knows, they might. It's more an ilde curiosity than a concern. there is probably a perfectly boring and benign explanation for it. It just seemed pretty strange.
