Usually when i am invited in visit to my friends, , or for lunch or dinner,i buy flowers for my friend, a bottle of good wine for her husband, and candy or a toy for children. May sometimes make one cake depends how much time i have. What you buy when you're invited to visit? Years ago, I was visiting France, and when I was invited to some friends, they said there is not going to buy flowers when i visit, I just bought a bottle of wine.

Hi, Ice! I usually bring some home-made goodies for dessert. That seems to make everyone happy...

Whenever i got invited for lunch or dinner at my friends homes, i will bring along fruits or some home-made cookies or cakes for them. Now, i seldom go to my friends home, usually i ended-up invited by my relatives. So, i will still bring some fruits, which is convenient as everyone can eat fruits. When i got free time, i will cook some dishes, to bring along and eaten together with my relatives food. It's nice to share food together while enjoying the function.

To bring a gift or not is a custom that varies from one country to another, as in many countries there's no such a custom. In this country we're usually supposed to bring something, so I tend to bring tea, or some snacks, so the person I'm visiting can enjoy that later

Well, i had a different gift for my friend in Ooty, a tourist place in India. I took a flowering plant and fifted her. I believe most of the gifts goes off in years. But gifts like plants will always live for longer as sweet rememberance. Also it saves our earth from global warming!

Usually when I go to a friend's house, I bring them a bottle of Sljivovica. A lot of people love it, and those who have never tried it get to try something new. :) For those who don't drink, I usually bring a box of chocolates.

Sometimes, I buy stuff for my friends when I visit. Sometimes I don't especially when I don't have time to buy gifts. When I do buy gifts for them when I visit, I usually bring food. I love giving them biscuits or some kind of desserts. I usually buy cakes or ice cream to give to them.
