Do you know any walking contradictions?

An injured safety officer - Safety officer, a walking contradiction

So, I came to work today, and just by the turnstiles in front of the building I saw our Safety Officer. He is the guy who is in-charge of all the safety procedures in the manufacturing plant. He is such a stickler for wearing safety boots and safety goggles, and walking in designated paths, and everything. The thing that surprised me in seeing him today was that his left arm and left leg was in a cast. So I asked around. Apparently our safety guy is fond of riding motorcycles, and over speeding, and racing, and living dangerously. Now, I know shouldn’t be making fun of him. But I just found it contradicting! And a little funny I guess. How about you? Do you know anybody who doesn’t fit the bill? Who is a contradiction by himself or herself?

I guess to some I am. I am a retired violinist who loves Rock and roll.I look like a kind mother type but I don't like children. People just assume I'm Christian but I'm not.And like your Safety officer I would Love to ride a bike but I can't and won't drive a car.

Many of us are one way at work and much wilder at home. I know I am.

If you put it that way, then I guess there is another side to this discussion. The side in which people make the wrong assumptions. I admit, I am guilty with this. I just coudn't help myself with the safety officer, remembering how a stickler he was, and how he looks now. Thanks.

Maybe he needs to blow off steam! Only thing that comes to my mind right now is my first boyfriend's dad. He was a doctor and he was grossly obese.

That's what he keeps saying. Now that everybody is talking about him. I don't like to judge people, but that would be difficult for me to take medical advice from someone not-so-healthy himself. Thanks dawn!

so far, nope in my case. my friends seems normal i guess.. I suppose that safety guy is just doing his job for the sake of it? Like what most people are doing anyway. Working for the sake of working.

I know what you mean. This job I have right now is starting to s*ck! I'm beginning to hate it. But, what can I do? I got bills to pay. So I just got to work for the sake of working. Maybe tomorrow I would win the lottery. And all these will just be history. Thanks.

Well I suppose that it's a contradiction but at the same time it's his job to be safe and he may just take that seriously. Not outside of work though, outside of work he rebels against the conformity of his job. I don't know anyone that fits that bill no.

I guess you're right. Maybe that was his way of letting off steam. Too bad though that he had to get hurt, and people at work had to see him. Thanks for the response.

Since he is your safety officer, i'm sure he just wanted everyone to be safe so that no accidents will happen. Well even though we are being careful sometimes accidents do happen and i guess that was what happened to your safety officer. Oftentimes we are good at telling others to do this and that but when it comes to us, we sometimes don't follow or practice what we preach. Like me for instance when i tell students to exercise everyday coz its good for our health but then actually i don't exercise daily. LOL
