bla bla bla whatever

Today I am going to bla bla bla a little about what's going on in my life, no particular theme... Today I had a consultation with the orthodontist about Dearra's braces. But before I went in, I talked to her about her anxiety. I wanted to know if going to school with braces was going to make her nervous. She said yes. So I asked her if she would feel better about if we waited until summer vacation and she had some time to get used to them. She said yes. She's already got this anxiety thing going, then she may need glasses in a year or two AND she's going to be seen very soon for scoliosis. Too many things all at once. The orthodontist said braces could wait until the end of June, so that's it. Cary is having a tough time with things related to reading in school. It's the autism. So even math, which he's good at, is hard because they have so many word problems. They're pulling him into the resource room (special ed) more often to help him with this and he's reading a lot more fluently. It totally flabbergasted me when he pulled out a Harry Potter book and started reading it. Of course, I don't know how much he comprehended, but just the idea that he was reading was pretty cool. Cary is very proud of HIS braces btw. Naomi's doing great in school, is the family social butterfly, doesn't seem to have any kind of anxiety problems or anything. Braces are not far down the road for her either, must be contagious. She's the baby (even though she's the same age as Cary), and she sure does play it up. "Daddy, can you carry me to bed?" "Can you make me a sandwich?" "I'm too tired." Watch out guys, this one is going to be work. As for marital stuff, well somebody told me to listen to my gut. I tried, but all it does is gurgle. Actually, I'd like to lose the gut. But OK seriously, here's what I get when I listen to my gut. "He's just telling me what he thinks I want to hear. He doesn't really get me. Nothing will change. And it doesn't matter any more anyway." Stupid gut. Why couldn't it tell me, "you will magically fall in love with him all over again and things will be better than ever"? Because with Dearra's anxiety, I just can't put this on her right now. Meanwhile, when we tried to have a talk with the kids, especially Dearra about activities that might build their confidence, such as karate, we got the subject changed to "when are we getting a dog?" Well, shoot, I don't know if I'm really up to taking on a dog right now. It's just one thing too much. And now I have to go and read a couple of BARR assessments (don't ask). How is your life today?

Hi Dawn, I must compliment you on your English. :) My day - is just starting. Last night god gave me a small good news, so I slept in a happy frame of mind, no reason to get up with a bad mood. Dad took his medications, he has been angelic yesterday and this morning. I am taking morning tea right now. :) I do have quite a few things lined up. I have to go to post office, buy some tax saving bonds. Then meet auditor, and prepare a draft rental agreement for a friend. In between all this, I have to complete two assignments at least one of which should have been completed yesterday. :) And of course, mylotting. :) To tell you the truth, I am so scared. If I stop coming here for a week, I will no longer be in your list of friends. :) So when are you coming to India. :) I do hope god gives you strength to pull through this. And hope he guides you right. :) Take care.

English is my native language after all. :-) Good grief, I'm not going to drop you just because you're away for a week. Or a month. Or even a year. As for when I'm coming to India, well, probably not any time soon, but I'd love to get there at least once in my life.

With three young children, and work, your life is pretty full. Mine feels rather empty at the moment, after having given up the voluntary work which consumed my time for over 30 years, and 8-16 hours a day for the last 6 years. Suddenly the days are much longer. I'm thinking about a holiday - just thinking at the moment, but thinking.

Yosemite - hmmmm - maybe, but the Aussie outback is really shouting and I think it might win.

More braces.. seems your children are progressing well. Well, if your gut tells you things that you dislike, just follow your heart. It works sometimes. Karate is coolio.....

Yeah - I dont take coffee first thing in the morning. :) Dad likes tea so he needs at least one round of it. :) How is your day progressing - you all started the day before us anak saudara. :) May be you do need to teach me a couple of words more in your language. :) I feel stuck with only two words. :) I am slow but I have all the time in the world to pick at least a few more words.:) What do you eat for breakfast - and what is it called in your language. :)

Quiet day not too many Amurcans to show round. Chili for supper and the sun shone. Did some gardening and laundry. All is well. Reading that you went to see the orthodontist about Dearra's braces reminds me of the Asian gentleman I saw being gently ushered from the ante-natal class with the words "It's your wife that I need to see Mr P......".

Hi dawnald. It was interesting to read your musings about you and your children's current situation. It was a comfort for me, as I see that I am not the only one having similar things with the kids. Hang in there. Life for me today is same-o, same-o. I'm here at work. Still boring, that's why I'm typing away here on myLot. Maybe later I'll walk around on the floor. It will give me a chance to exercise, and maybe think of another discussion.

sounds like you have quite a lot happening in your life at the moment... especially with your kids... hopefully everything will settle down bit by bit in the near future... as for me, that is really nothing interesting happening in my life... just work, work and work... and i am still in the process of trying to have a baby as well... so i hope it will be happening to me soon... i pray hard for that... take care and have a nice day...

I think a dog would be good right now...but for Dearra. Tell her she has to be totally responsible as it would be just too much for you. Not a puppy, but a dog that has at least basic training. You need some room to breathe and Dearra needs something to take her mind off her troubles.

A bit early for the Christmas newsletter, isn't it? Or do you send one out for Easter, too? But thanks for the update. The sun is shining, but a friend hurt my feelings today. (Yes, it's true, I do have feelings. I must be human after all.)

Hey, D! Your life is so full of wonderful things and so full of some that are not so much. NORMAL! Mine's normal, too - too much work, too little rest, and, fortunately, still madly in love with my husband after so many, many years.

hi dawn compared to your life mine here in the tiresome retirement center life is pretty tame, so the most interesting thing today for me is the resident's meeting at two p.m. which I always go to. they all complain about the food and sometimes the complaints are remedied and some times not.Hope you can get those troubling things about your children all settled so you feel at peace again and you can then trust your gut.

When you are terribly into being a Mom it's very hard to remember that your children are going to be who they need to be in this life. If you dissapeared tomorrow they would still do that. We all do. Dearra will grow into a strong young woman, all the trials she is going through will only make her stronger, Cary will beat his autusim, more and more is being learned about this all the time and he will benefit from that. Naomi will grow into the social butterfly until she grows beyond that into a wonderful loving woman. Each child has their own trials to overcome and because you have been a strong Mother they cannot help but benefit.

We’ll be looking at braces soon too and my daughter suffers from anxiety too. She’s only eight and after I spoke to her teacher she is having special assertiveness training from him because she’s been coming home in tears because her so called friend bosses her around and she feels unable to stand up for herself. Her teacher is really good, she had him last year too and he knows her quite well which really helps. Our house is now officially a zoo because on top of the two cats, one dog and one bird we now have three fish. My little one bought the fish herself but guess who will be cleaning the tank out? It’s my Dad’s birthday tomorrow and we’ll be visiting for a big feed which is worth the trouble because they usually provide very yummy food! That’s it, that’s my life right now; we’re broke but that has become the norm for us...
