Italy,a beautiful country.

Last week I travelled to Italy.It's really an impressive experience! Rome is ancient,Florence is quiet,Venice is beautiful.Their people are also kind,even though I can't speak Italian,and can't understand their English,they always try their best to help me!I like it,what's your impression of Italy?

Well, I heard that the country's scenery is great. And it's very famous for football.

I have never been to Italy but my brother teaches there and I have a number of friends who either live in Italy or have Italian connections. I have also read the books of Giovannino Guareschi ('Don Camillo') and also of Giuseppe di Lampedusa ('The Leopard') and others.
The present politics leave me rather cold but the heritage of art, literature and architecture inspire me. I suppose that I could say the same of my own country (England).
I have to say that I am currently trying to learn Italian.
