It is another beautiful day today. Thank goodness. I am going to go outside and vacuum out my car, throw away any trash laying around the interior of the car and spray some Febreze in it. Then I am going to give the car a good wash. It hasn't been washed since the fall time. Do you prefer to wash your car yourself or take it through the car wash?

I would rather wash it myself but prefer doing it with someone else. Washing it alone can be boring but it can be fun with other people. I normally have a "car wash day" and invite my son over with his car. Then, we wash his car, my SUV and my husband's truck and make a party out of it. Usually, I end up supervising but we still have a lot of fun. We may do that tomorrow, as a matter of fact. Thank you for reminding me that it's a good time to wash the car. The past two days have been in the lower 70s and tomorrow is supposed to get up to the mid-70s so it would be an ideal time to wash away all the dirt and salt from this nasty winter. Here's to SPRING!!! About time it showed up, huh?

Washing the car with kids is always fun. I loved it when my boys were young. We all got wetter than the car did. LOL The first time I left my youngest son alone with my car was a disaster, though. He wanted to wax it and I told him to knock himself out. I was working from home at the time and was very busy on my computer so I didn't notice what he was doing... at least not until I had to deliver the work I had just done. I went outside to get in the car and saw that it was completely covered in wax! My son had used an entire bottle of car wax on it and he did this around high noon with the sun on it. It took me years to get all that wax off!

Ooh, I bet that was a real nightmare trying to get all of the wax off.

That sounds like you all have a fun time washing your cars. My kids like to help out washing mine too. I let my son "clean" the wheels. We have the same weather I think as you, here in PA. Thank goodness. We deserve this wonderful weather!

Where are you located? Here in MD it is beautiful also! I thought I was going to be cooped up inside school, teaching today; but 3rd grader wound up getting sick at school, so we are home. At least I was able to air the house out some. If the weather is warm, I don't mind washing it myself. We are planning to do both our truck and our car this weekend, since it is suppose to be in the 70's all weekend.

You're probably only about three hours away. I could do without the snow. It was pretty for a while but then I got tired of it real fast.

Would you believe I have never been to a car wash, except in a Semi with my first husband, when I traveled with him. He said that getting all the dirt off made the truck get better fuel mileage as there was less wind resistance. My current husband uses a product called DWG waterless car wash, and you apply it about every six months. In between times you just wipe the dirt off. It seals so well you can write on your car with a Sharpie marker and then wipe it off with a little product. He sells it, and hopes eventually to build a good income with it. With people trying to conserve water and make their cars stay newer longer he is really excited about the various products offered by DWG.

I think it's time we get you to a car wash. You need to experience the big scrub brushes looking like they're going to attack you in your car. My son loves it! I've never heard of DWG. I wonder if it is available in our area. Where can it be purchased?

That is the same problem I have since it's also a SUV. I can't reach the top well. I just do the best I can and try not to think about it too much.

That would be nice if I could get somebody else to wash my car. As long as they did a good job.

If you pay them they would. I have a teen boy across the street who will do it for a little of nothing and if he does a bad job his dad gets on to him. I like a clean car, inside and out but I dont keep one that way Too lazy :)

Hello! It sounds refreshing even in prints if I see intros like you do. Words like beautiful, thanks, and goodness can brighten anyone's day. As for the cars, I don't have one of my own. If I have one I'll probably do the cleaning of my own maybe, together with the kids so it'll be more fun. But if I don't have time, I'll surely bring it to the car wash. Anyway, it's not that expensive in my country.

Thank you for your kind words. Days like this put me in a good mood. Glad to hear that the car washes are not expensive where you live.

Actually, just a while ago I wasn't in a good mood. But despite that, I try to cheer myself up as well as other people. Have a nice day!

I go to the car wash where you do it yourself. I don't have a hose long enough to wash my car here at home. I have not washed mine in awhile either, so maybe when I get done with a few things around the house I will take the kids to the car wash. I need to vacuum mine out as well. I don't have any Febreze, but I got some Clean Linen scented Glade spray the other day that I think would make my car smell really good.

Isn't the weather wonderful? I love it! We'll be getting rain this weekend but at least it won't be freezing anymore--at least, I hope! I take mine to the car wash. I don't really have a place to wash it so I take it through the car wash about 2-3 times a year. I need to go to the garage and clean mine out, too, trash tends to accumulate and I swear it breeds, too!

hi Shar19 I don't have a car but he he you sure you want to start a rain. we always used to laugh when we had a car as a few hours after we would wash it and wax it, sure enough it clouded up then it just plain poured. WE never took our pickup to a car wash as they were so expensive and we felt we did a better job of washing and cleaning the interior any way.

That is usually what happens to me when I wash my car - it rains. Luckily we're having a few nice days coming up.

Hi, Shar19. I don't have a car of my own. But, if I did I would prefer to wash it myself if I had my own home. I can take my time and clean it like I would want to . If I was in a big rush, I would take it to the car wash to clean it on the outside. It is just so much that we can do when it comes to cleaning it at the car wash. I like to manually clean my own car. It seems nice outside where we live at too. I think that the weather will be getting warmer very soon. The febreze smells really good too. I have some in my closet in the hallway. I love the Spring Renewal scent.

I feel like I can clean it better myself too. Although my son likes going through the car wash so he can see the big brushes spinning around.

Sounds good to me, Thank god for pretty days. i'm sure ready for a bunch of them. I have always preferred to hand wash my car, I have used car washes in the winter when it was too cold to do it myself & i wanted to get the salt off of it where they spray the streets for snow. Enjoy the sunshine.

I had wanted to get mine cleaned through the car wash in the winter but it was always so cold here. I was afraid that the water would just freeze up on the car. So I just let my car be dirty until now.

You are totally right. The weather is very beautiful today. And it has been a while since I've washed my car, it's actually a bit overdue. I've been putting it off because the weather has been a bit unpredictable. It would be sunny and nice one day and cloudy and rainy the next. If this weather keeps up I'll definitely wash my car this weekend. I prefer to wash my car myself. Sometimes I'd take it to the local car wash place but most of the time I just wash it at home. That way I can take my time instead of having to dish out a bit more cash.

That's the problem with the car washes, they're expensive. At least when you wash it yourself, you save some money.

Depends on day or my mood. In hot times like today, I prefer to wash my car myself. And I wash myself together, hahaha, it's very nice. But when I'm so lazy or anything that make me out of mood for it, I prefer to take it throught the car wash.

I am really lucky to have a first rate car wash just up the road from me and they only charge a couple of pounds to wash my car. I know I can drive up the road and be back in half an hour with a gleaming clean vehicle, so I'll stick with the car wash
