For the last week Gissi has had blood in his Stool, he is very quiet and just not Gissi Mischief I took Gissi to the Vet and well here is the Verdict The News is not good, basically I am to prepare myself for the worse Gissi is older then they thought, he is about 8-10 years old, what he has appears in older Dogs, he is on Tablets but if they do not work they will have to go in with a Camera again, but as my Bill has shot back up again I will have to pay that first, it has gone from nearly paid of to more then what it was in the first Place They are worried that his heart will just give out with all the stress he is going through with the Sickness, the Vet said it could be months or I might still have him for 2-3 Years but I am to prepare myself because of his Heart The Vet found something else to which he says I have to look out now in case there is any blood in his Urine Well the little Fellow is not so lively and full of himself any more, he has deteriorated over the last week How would you deal with news like that???

Gaby, you know how I am feeling at this news, because it is the same way you are feeling. When I first met you here on myLot so many years ago (seems like 10 years or more, but really only 3 years) I would never have believed two people could become close friends without ever meeting, but you and several others soon changed my mind. That hurdle crossed, who would ever have thought that a DOG could capture the hearts of so many? I feel that I really know Gissi and can picture him right here. When I talk to him, I imagine him answering back. Gaby, you know that I (and all your friends here) are WITH you and Gissi, willing him to overcome this problem. Hugs and love to you both.

wow how do I deal with it, with tears in my eyes Gabs, with tears in my eyes. He is such a gutsy little man in his doggie suit, and I would so miss him, so know a bit about what you must be feeling. I have never met you and Gissi in person, but feel like I know the two of you. I hurt for you Gabs and wish there was something we all could do to make him better, but yes we my lotters can all pray and prayer power from us is pretty powerful too. So he is older than you thought.I hope God lets you have him for at least two or three years. If I feel bad, you must feel much worse too. It is sort of a shock but maybe not exactly unexpected more like I had hoped God would sort of hear yours and my p rayers and work a miracle.I am so sorry Gabs, but maybe you will have him for longer than we think. I am sending a huge amount of prayers for you and Gissi both. may be it will w or k. many hugs

Gee wiz Gabs, its been a horrible sad time for you. I know how you feel. I have loved and lost many animals in my life. I've said a prayer for your Gissi. My poor Polly (yep thats how I got my mylot name) Is not doing real well. She is a small dog and is about 16 years old. She has a tumor on her abdomen, I think its probably a cancer. Surgery would kill her, I hate the thought of having her put to sleep. I feel so guilty, wishing there was something I could do for her. She is still eating and drinking ok, she gets around ok. She wags her tail when she walks around. Her hearing and sight is getting bad. I have asked God before she gets in pain and distress to just let her go to sleep and not wake up. It sounds horrible but I don't want her to suffer and I don't want to have to take her to get the shot. I included a picture of my Polly. I do hope your baby gets better, its heartbreaking when they are sick and hurting.

Polly she is beautiful And no it does not sound horrible that you want her to go sleep forever before she has Pain I have had Dogs all my Life, I have seen them go My last Dog Max I had to have put to sleep as he had Cancer, he was bringing up blood all the time He was to old to have surgery, he was in Pain, so I had to let him go, but he went in my Arms, I held him while he got the shot and for a long time after it broke my heart I really hope Polly gets through this with no Pain Gissi is doing better, his breathing is better, but he does tire easily now, but he is better and that is what counts, I will never give up on him, he is not in Pain I asked the Vet so I know he is not suffering Big Hugs to you and to your Polly

I would love him up a lot, follow the instructions of the vet, and enjoy every minute I had with him.. I am sorry about all of this, just when you are finishing the move. I know the bills have to be paid. I would see if there was any special food to give him. I run in to a lot of people who give their dogs canned pumpkin as it soothes them and helps them have easier bowel movements. My cats have developed a taster for butternut squash or pumpkin puree when I make home made food.

Gabs, I don't know what to say. I have a lump in my throat just reading this, its so awful, poor little Gissi. Poor both of you. I had similar things when my dog came to the end of her life. She had heart failure and everything in her body just began to pack up slowly and in the end I had to make the most hardest decision in my life. So I feel for you I really do. I was devastated, absolutely devastated when I was told she would be better off being put to sleep. My thoughts are with you xxxx

Dearest Gaby, My heart is breaking for you and the precious little guy. This is my question to you. Are you willing to fight at any cost? And by that I don't mean money cost. If Gissi is suffering, is it just too hard for you to let him go? Or would you feel better knowing that he is not in pain any more? My first question to the Vet has always been, is he in Pain? So much of the time they never really say. It's like they don't want to have any part in helping you make the right decision. Or should I say the best decision. I've had to make that decision many times over the years and if the Vet had given me a clear opinion, then I could have made a more clearr and decisive decision. Instead I walked away many timrs feeling guilty. I suspect I would have felt that way no matter what decision I made. Gaby, I'm sure if it comes right down to it, you will make the right decision. God Bless you Sweetie. Love Ya, Leenie

Hi Sweet No Gissi is not in Pain if he was I would do the right thing like I had to with my previous Dog I would put no pet through that as it is selfish and not fair He is breathing much better then he was and a bit more Life full But I have to say he will let me know now when he wants to go home when we go the Field which he never used to he just used to go and go He is resting a lot more then he used to I have had to make the decisions many time as well in the past and I always stayed with him and held them while they crossed over, I would not let them go alone, they left the World in my Arms But Sweet Gissi is in no Pain they are concerned with all the stress he is going through with all these Illnesses that his Heart might give up Love you and big Hugs always

Hi gbabs..This news really upsets me too. I feel like I know the dog just from your wonderful descriptive stories of him. I sure you feel as though youve been blindsided and rightfully so. My first thought would be to get a second opinion just to make sure the treatment prescribed is the right approach, but also understand the money thing..Oh do I understand that..My dogs need some medical attention right now as well and I just can't afford it now and have to put it off till next month. (I'm thinking about taking out pet health insurance that I've been reading about online.)It just dosent seem fair that because of money, medical attention can't be administered..not fair to them, thats for sure. Possibly though you could find a vet willing to work with you. You just have to stay strong and have faith that God will get you both through this set back. Try not to be too sad if thats possible. You have given him a great life and concentrating on all the love you shared with him and all the funny stories is the best medicine for you. Hey, miracles happen all the time, every day..He could turn around and start improving just as fast as he got ill. and thats what I am going to pray for starting tonight..Hang in there and you two will comfort each other. Its not over till its over and I just have a strong feeling that he is going to get better. Although 8-10 years is up there, some dogs live to be 17-18..I had a lab/dashound mix (yes you are reading that right!! One day I'll tell you about him) that lived to be 17 and in his elder years got sick a couple of times that gave us a terrible scare and he bounced back..Gissi Mischief is going to too..Hugs to you both and pm me and let me know his progress,,,and it will be progress..
