Do some users here really delight in having their discusions deleted?

I looked and I do not find any discussions just like this. I am wondering, have lost five responses to people who have broken the rule about questions that are already answered in mylot's questions and answers. so now am wondering seeing several names that have had more than one discussion deleted for the same rule, are there some here who actually enjoy breaking the rules just to get information from an older user? What keeps them from using the information Mylot Admins gave them?I do not delight in losing earnings from answering these trying to help some who I believe do not want to read the information at all. just want us ot explain it all .I know, I know, I can just pass by, but then I get scolded by other older users for being unkind, but are any of them going to pay my internet bill when I do not have enough to pay it? no of course not. so damned if I do a nd damned if I do not.

I hear you HAtley! I had hoped that with the new upgrade and the email being sent to new users when they register, that there would be fewer of these discussions but sadly there are not. Every single day they ask how much they can earn, can they earn a dollar a day, what do they have to do and so on. If I see a user who is posting one of these questions for the first time then I will continue to point them to the FAQs and Guidelines but if it is a a user who asked similar questions before then I am not as sugar sweet as I used to be. They are wasting their own time and everyone else's too but they don't seem to want to realise it. I have many new users on my friend list and you won't see them asking those questions in the discussions. It takes time to help them in a PM too but those users are worth it because they respect the Guidelines and their fellow Lotters by not starting discussion which are a violation from the word 'go'. No-one is going to scold you Hatley. You have done your share of answering them so move on and leave them be. I shall continue, at least for a bit longer and at least while I have a lot of time to be able to be here and make up for my losses but they are wrong, absolutely wrong to think that they can carry on wasting everyone's time - and patience

hi diana its sad but in order to make my internet payment each month I have to bypass these that are just blatant rule breaking 'and move onto fellow mylotters who do keep the rules, this way I can make more and not have to squeeze more out of my small budget left over from Gold Crest taking the rent and board out of my Social security and SSI checks. there are some I can p m and those I can still help.

Hi Diana - there are things that I know I shouldnt be answering but I answer nevertheless, because it is a newbie, or a friend. Then there are things that I have misunderstood, and the last category is there discussions I answer because I forgot something about it in the guidelines. :) But you my dear are seen everywhere, spreading the bright yellow light. :)

Hello, Hatley. I'm feeling the same myself now, particularly when I come across one like I saw yesterday, which said, 'I know I could find this in FAQs, but I'd rather ask you guys.' That was when I decided that I'm not going to answer any more of these discussions. I'm very busy with writing projects at the moment, and my MyLot time is precious to me. How else can I keep in touch with lovely friends like you? Leave them to it, Hatley, and spend your time with your friends.

hI sandra and Lambie, I am quitting answering those when they brag that they would rather we tell them, they are just being lazy and they do not have to pay my internet bill, but I do. So if I do not answer those who seem to boast they do not intend using the information provided for us all maybe I will come closer to being able to pay my internet bill.

Good morning, Michael, Hatley. Let's agree it's time for 'No more Mr Nice Guy' now. We've all done our share of trying to help, but some people just don't want to be helped. From now on, I'm only going in to help the ones who seem to genuinely want to become one of our community.

I used to reply to many of the discussions you refer to. I still do so occasionally. These days, I have confidence in the fact that Mylot now tell people WHY their discussion was deleted and simply waste no more breath than in reporting infractions.

I think this represents what I am doing. I still managed to lose one response last week, but for the most part, if I suspect something will be deleted I will not answer it. I have a friend who has been on here a long time who still posts discussions that get deleted all the time. He is pretty blithe about it as well and does not complain. He is just himself.

It's sad for my post to get deleted hatley. In my first week here after my come back, I receive many notifications informing me that my topics was deleted, but I learnt from it already... and now I am always watching my steps. I am very much sorry for those who lost there earnings for me. Now I am trying to give back. I want to help other like newer users too. Even I know my my answers would get deleted too... maybe it's hard to understand, but in my case, I can understand them a lot... for the case of newbies... maybe they want us to answer, they do not want to read the guidelines---they want us answer because they want us to prove them this site is actually good and legit, not included in those listed scam sites... The admin wants us to help them... to fill this community with quality discussions... I know I will lose cents, but it's nice to feel I can give a little help in my own way. I understand you my friend... In my own opinion, no one really smile when informed for a deleted discussions, well in the end, it's a blessing in disguise.. I hope all of them learned from it, as I learned from mine... And thank you, you have been a part of my learning, you know that... :-)

Those that act like you did prime are more than welcome! You understood immediately when you were advised not to start discussions like those and you stopped doing it and have since learnt where to go for the answers and doubts to your queries! Now we must get the message across to the others too - and we will somehow!

prime it more were like you and learned and really cared 'we would have a lot fewer discussions that are deleted.'Some refuse to help themselves and yet that is really the best way to learn the ropes here to do it yourself. its not that hard really and it bets makes all of us olderones lose point afte point and earnings we really need.

You know I've not been on here looking through the discussions much of late. Today, I got on eccause I had sometime and I love hanging out in myLot reading the discussions and talking to friends and fellow members. As I'm looking through the different posts, I just see so many posts that do not follow the myLot guidelines. The questions and answers forum that I genrally I love the majority of post I find repealing and inappropriate questions for myLot. What is happening to the quality of myLot? I thought in December, Alice was going to work to improve myLot, but it looks like it has gotten worse as far as I can see. I agree with you that I hate having my posts deleted because of other members not following the posting guidelines on myLot. I've said it before and I'll say it again they need a training / tutorial for new users. Second, I'll agree with a comment that I know I've heard other members post in the past we need some form of a test to weed out the people who are care and want to be part of this community from the rest. You know even oDesk make you take a readiness test before you can even do anything on their site. Perhaps myLot should consider adopting something like this.

aireanna18 yes its not really fair to state oh I know about the guidelines and rules but would much ratherr have an older user explain it to me. in other words I am too lazy to read it for myself, you explain it to me.that is simply selfish 'and so unfair, they lose money but they do not care if we who try to help and only get our responses deleted lose money too. They do need some sort of training tutorial I agree whole heartedly.

Rules are made not to be broken but to be used as guidelines. I am not only talking about mylot rules, but all kinds of rules. I have observed that there are people who feel wise and smart when they are able to violate rules. There are better and decent ways to show wisdom like following the rules, being helpful to those who need help, sharing ideas and maintaining peace and order in the community. Getting others frustrated is not a sign of wisdom and I hope and pray for enlightenment for people of this kind. Of course, you have every right to rant and rave and let them know how you feel. Why not. For now, take a deep breath and have a beautiful day, Hatley

Hi Hatley, one of my posts as well as the comments in it were gone just now for they were under the discussion it was deleted. And again when I tried to view a newly started discussion from my mailbox. To my astonishment it was deleted that fast as well. I think everything here will go smoothly if everyone follows mylot guidelines strictly and does his own part here nicely. Hopefully one doesn't make fun by challenging the rules here to test whether the violating discussions would be deleted later on... Have a nice day and happy posting

Yeah Hatley, after losing the money which I have consumed time and effort working on them I try to ignore them. I'm not sure whether any of the discussions from the same users are plagiarism as well. Certain contents we could see clearly they are the violation type. But it is hard to distinguish the plagiarizing type. Yeah, we should read the guidelines as well as the FAQS every now and then to avoid doing the don'ts. For they might update from time to time. Moreover every user can now learn from the myLot notification which discussion or response or comment is deleted for violating rule. Happy posting and have a nice day

Hi, Hatley. I have lost some of my earnings because of members asking questions that are against the myLot rules too. Sometimes, I will look to see if other users have answered the discussion. But it comes to find out that they did answer it.. I don't know because the next thing that I know my earnings will go down. And I get so irritated as to what was deleted and what did I do wrong. I am tired of losing earnings. Some of the discussions seems like our earnings will not get taken away, but it does in the end. I think that myLot should delete these discussions as soon as it is posted by the member. That way, we won't have a chance of answering their discussions, only to lose our earnings. That is just not fair. Especially when the discussion is about us giving them advice to help them out. If they take delight into getting their discussions deleted, then that is wrong and unfair to others that work hard at posting on myLot.

high cream 97 thats a really good idea, having mylot admins simply delete those before we get involved. super thinking. I know I thought several I responded to were okay but they also got deleted. I think some of them just plain do not 'give a darn if they get deleted or not. thats just not fair as they want responses but are careless in what they post. I am bypassing all who use the questions mylot has already answered in the mylot information.

I have had to turn people off and not get their responses/posts because they go against the rules and are rude or something. I think alot of members just don't care to go by the rules and do as they please. I even think that alot of them do not read the guidelines. I just delete their posts if they are so idiotic and I know they go against the rules. It isn't brain surgery people!

There are some situations where it is crystal clear but there are some where there is ambiguity. For example there are 'interests' under riddles and quizzes and when these are answered they get deleted as a guideline violation. If it is a guideline violation then 'interests' should not be allowed. I was a victim of this recently. And incidentally, one discussion did not get deleted which was about 3 months old but the recent one has been deleted - I had responded to it. Hately let me tell you there is ambiguity here.We have to do eeny meeny...it seems!

Jokes, recipes, poems, riddles and limericks are not to be posted as a topic BUT it is absolutely possible to create a discussion around them. For this reason there are those interests. If you see a discussion which is violating the Guidelines then PLEASE help out by reporting it. It might have been missed when it was first posted and we are asked to help out in the Guidelines.

I just got what I do believe is my first notice of a post being deleted. It is so annoying. I do not get why people who follow the guidelines get penalized when other members choose to violate those guidelines. I'm a member of another social plateform that is a little like myLot there they actual penalize members with fines for not following the rules. Why can't they fine those members who do not follow the rules; then once people's account go negative freeze these member's accounts and delete them from the community. I'm not trying to sound harsh here I'm just saying this would actual set the tone for us having a clean community where the serious members can enjoy posting and discussing topics without their posts getting deleted all the time.

yes one poster here said something I think is interesting by our responding to these posts we know will be deleted we are actually encouraging them to keep making these posts that break the rules. Maybe she had a point there. I know there have been a bunch of' them lately. I have reread the rules and know more than before to watch for those that will be deleted, and I am just not going to respond anymore.

What annoys me is all the clutter that they cause. I generally do not respond to them especially if I know they have already violated the guidelines. The discussion that got deleted was a general discussion of whether it is possible to make $5 a day online. All the posts which I read through first were in compliance with the guidelines. My guess is that afterwards someone posted something that was against guidelines so the whole thread got deleted. That is the part that I disagree with here on myLot I think there should be a way that only the person that violated the guidelines gets penalized for their actions rather than all the innocent bystanders that posted on the thread before them.

I wonder at times if some of the people whose first language isn't English are asking because they have such a difficult time reading English. There is a lot to read in the guidelines and that's difficult for someone struggling to understand each word and meaning within a particular context. I would hope that admin checks the syntax of the person's inquiry to see how well they handle the language before they delete their discussions.

Many of us add the users who do not have English as their fisrt language to their friend list so that we can help them when they have doubts. The ones who are posting the same questions over and over again are usually not those users but others who seem to get a kick out of wasting everyone's time

I haven't given this any thought but there may be some users like this. Sometimes I forget to check if the discussion has already been started before I start one. I'm trying my best to remember these days. I sure don't enjoy having my discussions, responses, and comments deleted. I know here lately some of my responses have been deleted because the discussion was deleted due to the person who started it not following mylot's rules. Kathy.

I too have seen new mylot users break the rules. I'm quite new and i read all the terms etc before i started my lot as i thought it was a scam at first and then i started and thought it was an easy and enjoyable way of making money. I don't think i can solely rely on mylot to make money online, but it does seem promising and definitely fun and interesting. I did not know that you could lose money though and that discussions could be deleted. I did ponder on how mylot would clean up all the multiple discussions that have the same question. I guess i got my answer, i still haven't experienced it though, hopefully i won't. Thanks for sharing your experience!=)

Thanks for the compliment!=D It is annoying that we lose money on such simple matters. I am also registered in a survey site called globaltestmarket.com It is quite similar to mysurvey.com Do you earn enough? and how many hors a day do you use on it? i have still just answered 4 surveys since i recently started. I have to earn about 1000points in order to redeem them into cash. Is it easier later on when you've become a frequent user?
