At what time do you wake up?

India

Some of us are early risers while some wake really late. In our family itself we wake up at different time 'zones'. I usually sleep very late and hence would wake late. How about you? I think that I will come to know at what time does the world at large prefer to start their day.

i am basically an early riser. i am up and about before the clock strikes five in the morning. however, after a long hard day that stretched well into the night the previous day, i take comfort in hitting at least four hours of restful sleep.

Hi Bystander, Four hours is less sleep I reckon. You must be very hardworking to be up so early!

i don't do that very often, the four-hour sleep, i mean... and when i do, i try to find time to compensate or pay for it... sleep is very important to our health, you know...

If I didn't have to work at eight, I would probably wake up at seven and go jogging and then go back to sleep until nine or ten. During the winter time it get so cold out here that I don't like to get out of bed until I absolutely have to.

I guess, people living in the cold places are more active. They can put in a lot of physical activities. Its scorching heat now here. Right from 4 30 or 9 in the morning it seems as if ther whole place is burning. I rake a shower (cold) and come out to start my car and I am already soaked with sweat. With 90% humidity and at 40 deg c heat it takes a lot out of your body. BTW where do you stay? At which place?

Hello, I have seen you on Facebook, but not so much around myLot. Anyway, on week days I wake up between 6 and 6:20 am, because I have to get the children to school and myself to work. On weekends, I prefer to sleep in. I am not a morning person by choice, only by circumstances. Dawn

Hi Dawn, I am not a morning person at all, feel very clumsy early in the morning. Guess, sometimes circumstances are stronger than our choices. I could always do with some extra sleep every now and then I miss most of my friends here in mylot so.... thank you for noticing! Just occurred to me that it is around 6 30 am here now, so this response back could sound very "clumsy", ie. maybe until I get my fifth cup of coffee

I know how good it feels when you wake up suddenly in the middle of the night and see that a few hours are still remaining to get yourself up. You have a great day too! Nice DP.

Well, my first alarm for the day goes off at 7 am, but that is only because I need to make sure that my daughter gets up to go to school. I usually stagger back into bed after I know that Kathryn is up. So, I will usually go back to sleep for another 3-4 hours because of the fact that I am inheriantly a night owl. I really get a start to my day somewhere between 10 and 11 in the morning. I feel well rested that way and I typically have good days.

I usually wake up about 7-8 A.M. Depending on what time I have to be at work, sometimes I manage to sleep until 8:30-9:00 A.M. I am usually awake until at least 11:00 P.M.-Midnight...

Hi. bodhisatya. Since my kids are in school now, I usually will wake up at 4 and 5 in the mornings. My son's bus comes before seven in the mornings. So, I have no choice but to be up when his bus comes in the mornings.

I usually wake up at certain time but if I had to work I will have to wake up at six a clock. I had to sleep at least 8 hours a day so I will not dare to stay up late if not in week end.

Hi Bodhisatya, would you believe that since at the age of 12, I started waking up at 4:30 am.Very early and can you imagine I am still waking up at this hour (4:30 am)? I'm 54 years old now and I believe it was my brain who's responsible for my body clock. My mother trained me to cook for our family of 11 bros and sisters plus a father and a mother. The advantage is I am doing the household chores while studying.

I'm a early riser i'd say! I wake up every morning before my alarm usually before 5am central time zone. I've been this way for many years and actually enjoy waking early, hearing Rooster Crow...LoL..It feels good to sleep-in on weekends though.

Awww... it must be so lovely to hear the rooster. I guess even if I am up at 4 30 or 5 I am never gonna hear that. There ain't no rooster here.. A good excuse to get up a bit late for me I guess!

I wake up around 5 a.m each morning and get up just afterwards. I love this time of day as it is very quiet and it I like to practice my meditation. Many people wonder how I seem to get by on such little sleep because I still go to be around midnight, but for many years now, I don't seem to need much sleep at all. _Derek

hi bodhi, always i wake up at 6 or 7 at the most even if i sleep at 2 or 3 am. that is working days - mondays to fridays. but there are times when i get sleepy in the afternoon, even when in the office, i keep yawning. so when i get back home, i go for a nap and then after that eat my dinner and then go online to do mylot. but during weekends, i sleep late on a friday, and wake up 10am on a saturday unless i have some important things to do. ann

Who wakes up early can reach far away. This is a proverb in my country and I don't know the English equivalent. It is true that who wakes up early in the morning seems the day is longer and has time to solve many problems or work and rest more efficiently. Waking up at an early time in the morning depends on the hour you go to bed and every person needs a different period of sleep to recover after a busy day. But for me, if I wake late in the morning I'm dizzy and not so fresh. Then the first hours in the morning are most fruitful for the brain.

I usually wake up, without the alarm, between 6 and 8, depending how late I went to bed. But I don't really become "functional" until 10 or so. I have to have my coffee and then I'm ready to go. When I worked, I had to set the alarm for 5, because I had to be at work by 730.
