Illegal migrants into the USA

I wonder if any illegal migrants manage to get into the USA these days. I saw a discussion yesterday about people moving to another country to get away from poverty, unstable countries or civil war. The situation across the water in Europe is that Africans have managed to get over to Malta, Spain and Italy then move onto other European countries. There are some professional smugglers that live a dangerous like taking the illegal migrants on boats to Europe. Do any illegal migrants manage to get into the USA these days? If so which countries have they come from? Are illegal migrants caught attempting to get into the USA?

In USA it is easy to hide. US is a multiracial country. Anyone can manage to live there without following legal process. In US there are many scopes of getting job. So some how the people of poor countries go to America and live there illegally. In US there are some legal professionals who help the immigrants to live in US.

Do many illegal immigrants get into America today? You bet they do, thousands. Most seem to come from Mexico.

Or from Cuba. I first read your question if any illegal immigrants get into America today, I thought you were kidding.

i saw a documentary long time back hoe Mexicans try to snuggle in the States. But the documentary was of long time back probably 6- 7 years. I haven't heard of any recent cases. yes there are professionals in this business who try to take people across international borders.

I think the US has become less appealing to illegap immigrants because of the economic downturn. A lot of people suffering from poverty want to live in America because it's their impression that you cane easily find a job there. I had a friend who was able to become a pilot because hi mother is an illegal immigrant in America, he tried to visit the US on a Tourist Visa but were denied several times because of his mother's illegal status. I have hear anything from him for years but i heard from our common friends that he is now a pilot.

This country was made of immigrants and from immigrants. Everyone, expect for Native Americans, is an immigrant or a descendant of immigrants. The majority of all people in the USA are of European or African Blood. I am a mixture of just about everything, and I am sure 80% of all Americans are. I always wonder why people get so upset about illegal immigration, when we are all immigrants or descendants of immigrants.

There are apparently still a lot of Cubans who try to make the crossing to Florida were there is a quite a large Cuban population. I think that some of these are intercepted at sea by the USCG, others manage to make it and some don't - the boats founder and sink. But it still goes on despite the risks.

Well most of the illegal migrants come from Mexico which is just a border away from US. I do not know if there is still those Cubans that try to attempt entering the US by boats which was strong decades ago.

Oh, yes! We have a lot of Mexicans in this country now and a lot of them are not legal. I don't know which ones are not legal, though. They're just about taking over. I think sometimes they are caught trying to get in the USA but not always. I don't have anything against Mexicans or any other kind of immigrants. In fact, I love everybody but I don't think they should try to take over. Kathy.

I am not sure about the USA, but there are always illegal immigrants coming into Australia. This is a big business in Asia, this people smuggling one. I am sure the poor people are told that they will be accepted when they fork over their money in Asia to be transported here. A lot of these come from Asia, but also the Middle East. They then get caught in our waters and end up on our overcrowded detention centres on Christmas Island where they live like prisoners until they are either accepted, or returned. Some do not even get here at all as their boats often sink or break down at sea.
