Americans Have You Mailed Back The Census Form Yet?

the reason i ask is because if you are like me you set it aside till you had time to do it. well i opened it and it said to complete it the SAME DAY and MAIL IT. of course i read this on friday when i got it monday! OPPS! am i the only one that thinks that is ridiculous? not only would you have to get it in the mail you would have to immediately fill it out and run to the post office before it did its last pickup! who would have time to do that? not me! i get my mail late too so it would get me maybe an hour before last pickup and why the heck cant it just be mailed the next day or something? i thought for sure it would give us a week or two etc.. but apparently not.. i mailed it saturday but not the same day oh well!
have you received yours? have you mailed it out already? how soon? do you think them wanting it back that fast is nuts?

Mailed it out yet...haha...i just filled it out last night. Of course i sat it down somewhere, i didnt forget about just lost it. I thought it had to be in by april 1st.

moonlitmagikchild so long as they get the census form period i don't see a problem here yes it would be nice to get it back the same day but if thats not possible at least within the next two days i have problems with prioritizing time as well but i took care of the census report and mailed it back the next day so they would get it

It did not take my mother and I too long to fill out the Census Form. I think that everyone should fill it out and send it out as soon as they can because that will assess what the country needs and does not need.

Yeah, it's just a few simple questions on a forum, you mail it back, and then you are all done. It's so easy. They Census Bureau just needs some information to figure out what this country needs and then that is it. Also, I have a bet going on that California's population has doubled or even tripled from 2000. People are having children like rabbits around here.

i always thought people came to your house and did it for some reason.. yeah it was really quick to fill out.. im surprised it wasnt longer

At least you got the form. I have received 5 cards telling me to return the form. I received a phone call and was asked the questions. Then I received more cards telling me to return the form. The problem is that the form has to be delivered to a residence(Census Regulation) and not a PO Box. When I moved to the community I lived in town and was not on a mail route so my mail had to be delivered to a PO Box(Postal Regulations). it seems that the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing.

We definitely didn't complete it the day we got it in the mail. I think that is a little unreasonable. We got it completed a few days later and mailed it in - which I think is good enough. It really was very easy to fill out. I'm trying to figure out why they have a store in our mall with people to "help you fill out the census." It's really not that hard? lol

Yes, I got mine on Tuesday and it went out on Saturday. I think they put that in there so people didn't put it away and forget about it. I mean really how absurd was the urgnecy. The census is being diluged with the forms and they will never know what day we got it or sent it back. I think it's important to do it but they made it sound almost like one was going to get in trouble if you didn't. If they don't get one from a household, my understanding is that some person will visit your home. That was incentive enough for me to get it back to them since I am not about to let some stranger come in telling me that they are from the census bureau. Too many crazy people out there these days. Good reminder to all Americans to get it out and soon!!

I am not at ahome and haven't been for a little bit, but I imagine it's sitting in my mail pile waiting for me. i will fill it out when I get around to it and then only the first couple questions, how many living there and how old...the rest is none of their business as far as I'm concerned. If they have an issue with that, they can suck eggs, i am only contsitutionaly mandated to answer those 2 questions.

really they dont ask much of anything.. like just the people in the house and age and race but thats about it.. im so used to surveys online asking a million that this was a freakin joke

Hey moonlit! Thanks for reminding me!lol I forget what day I
received it! It was sometime last week and I put it somewhere
and to be honest I totally forgot about it! What are they going
to do to me? I will get around to it sometime this week when
I get some of my other bills in order and mark them down with
the dates I need to pay them! I really did totally forget about
it! I have been distracted by uh, life, doh? I will go through
all my stuff that I have to deal with in the next week and
will send it off when I'm ready! But, anyway thanks for reminding
me that I still need to get around to it!

I haven't even gotten mine yet. I'll fill it out as soon as I do though. Maybe I'll be getting it in the mail in the next few days. Until then, I guess I can't worry about it too much.

i got mine late too.. i was seeing commercials saying they were sending them out a certain day and i got mine a few days after that

I think it was a few days before we filled it out. I didn't read it. I personally think it is a joke. My husband filled it out, and sent it back.

it like asked nothing really! i thought it would go into more depth but i guess maybe im so used to surveys i expected more!
