what is the worst household related chore? is it having to do the dishes? is it having to clean the bathroom and the tub and sinks? is it having to do the laundry? or is it having to go to the store for groceries? i think the dishes are probably the easiest if you have a dishwasher and do the grocery shopping is the biggest pain, because of all the lines at the store. I would love to get any thoughts on this and why you think that one is the worst of these.

yeah i can't believe i left that one out, but i always did it when i lived with mom and dad as it was expected of me to do it so i did without complaining about it as it didn't take too long to collect and take out and since we had cans on wheels wasn't too bad, but if you have to carry all of it out that can be a bit of a pain i am sure.

Well for me I guess the worst household chore would be cleaning the bathroom. It feels very dirty to hold the toilet in and out especially when there are unwanted waste that's left. The others that you have mentioned are still manageable, except foe cleaning the toilet. LOL!

If only we could figure out an automated way to do that. To keep the toilet clean without all the scrubbing that would be nice for a lot of people if we could do that.

I have two: cleaning the toilet and cleaning the refrigerator. Of course these are worse when you live with other people around. When I was a kid those were the two chores I hated most.

yeah cleaning the toilet seems to be the least favorite for a lot of people and the refrigerator would be a good one too, but my dad hates that the most because of all the food that got wasted when we don't keep it cleaned out good too many leftovers that never got used up.

I hate seeing food wasted as well, but I really hate when something spills or goes bad and there is gunk you have to clean up!

I hate making the laundry, washing clothes, ironing then folding it an putting closet to closet, drawers to drawers. But i have no choice but to do it all myself. I want my things, house in a well organized manner,so,even with househelp,i personally do household works. I don't want to end up cleaning what has been cleaned, becoz,i felt it's not as clean as i want. Esp bathroom and kitchen sinks...i am very much particular with those places. I want those part of my house, the most and well organized and clean place on earth

I don't care as much with the laundry when it is just my stuff that i am doing, however when i go to my parents I do all of their clothes and that can be when i don't care for it as much, but my mom will put her clothes away so we even it out a little bit just don't care for having to lug all of that weight up all the stairs can be a little bit much at times. It sounds like you have a very clean house and there is nothing wrong with that i wish i could get my mom to do the same, but nothing ever seems to stay clean over there for very long.

I can do most except the laundry. I hate washing clothes, especially the white ones. I'd rather clean the bathroom, the tub and sinks.

I think you are first to say they prefer cleaning the bathroom. I don't mind the clothes as much when you are doing them as you can throw them in and go do other things its when they are done and you have to put them all away that it can be a pain.

It would be much easier if it's that way, just toss everything in the washing machine and do other things. That is not the case however, my wife wants the clothes spotless and she is not contented with how the washing machine wash clothes, especially the white ones. She wants to scrub and wash it twice before it passes her taste. That's why i let her do it. On the other hand, she's very noisy and keeps on complaining when she's cleaning the bathroom so i'd rather take the chore and have some silence doing so.

I'm not scared of some physical work, so the worse thing is cleaning the toilet, I tried once but never since.

I don't know how it is on others, but for me that was always rough on my legs and my back and my wrists from the scrubbing. It is just so awkward to be hunched down like you have to be to do it right and it can be tough on us to do it and me being a little taller probably doesn't help me much either.

My back is fine, it's not really a hard thing, physically speaking, but the smell and sight are awful, that's why I don't like it !

I think the worst household chore for me is ironing the clothes. About doing the dishes, I just sometimes dislike it when leftover food mix all together and ti looks icky and smelly. About cleaning the bathroom, I've never done it yet and I'll never do it. I don't dislike doing the laundry.

I never really got into ironing my clothes I'm sure I could do it if I really needed to do it, but if something needed it badly mom would take care of it as for myself I usually just hang up my nicer clothes unless they are in really bad shape and all wrinkled up. I'm not a big fan of cleaning the bathroom, especially the toilet and if someone else is willing to do that I will most gladly let them take care of that chore. I don't mind doing the dishes, especially when I am the one making them I have no problem cleaning up after myself its when there is a house full of adults and they have a dishwasher and no one can seem to fill it but me that it bothers me a little bit.

the bed sheets are the worst in my opinion they just take up so much room in the washing machine and take too long to get dry too, but the only good thing about that is you can put the clothes in the washer or the dryer and go do something else that needs to be done.

Hi Tim, well nobody likes to clean the toilet. The rest you have stated are much more favorable like going to the grocery, laundry or washing the dishes. But as for me, I don't worry much on household chores because my husband helps me. If it was his off day, I would see him clean the house or do clean the toilet and scrub without me telling him, he has the initiative to do it so. And I thanked God for giving me my hubby as my helpmate too. At least a full time housewife like me can at least rest my back specially during hubby's off day. We do give each other a massage after that hard work, that is why, I don't mind much on the chores. Happy Mylotting.

well it is always nice when you have some help with the housework. I always believed that the chores should be shared no matter what it is if it cooking or cleaning and its nice if you help each other out with that makes it more of a team effort. If i was grocery shopping for myself I don't think I would mind it as much, but when its for my parents I just want to get it over as quickly as I can.

Probably the dishes for me. I'm seriously considering investing in a dishwasher. I don't think it is the actual chore but the fact that it is ongoing one of those things you have to keep doing whether you are in the mood or not. I like cooking which is worse because it's usually me making the mess!

I don't mind it when i am cleaning up after myself when I have done the cooking and made the mess its when i have to clean up after other adults that i get frustrated, and having the dishwasher at my mom and dad's after being here and not having one. It is a great thing to have and theirs is built where there is a lot of room on the bottom so you can fit a lot into one wash load. I just don't understand why I am the only one that can seem to figure out how to load it its not rocket science you just put in the dishes add soap and press a button seems pretty uncomplicated to me.

I would have to say that the bathroom is the worst chore. The moment that you're done cleaning it, there is that realization that no matter how hard and how long you work, it just be dirty before the end of the day again. It is a never ending and vicious cycle. The bathroom can dirty rather quickly and takes forever to clean. And gets dirty again by the end of the day. So that is the worst house hold chore by far. As bad as the bathroom is, yardwork is a close second. That is what everyone will see, even if they never step foot inside the house. Therefore, it is key to get everything clean and make it look nice and tidy. So therefore, the yard work has to be done and once again, the moment its done, it will be undone. Especially considering that most of the time after the lawn is mowed, it rains and the grass grows. So much like the bathroom, yardwork is a never ending process.

yeah it is too bad they can't invent the self cleaning toilet and the self cleaning bathtub now that would be a great thing to invent be some money in that one i think. It's just like when you scrub the floor once anyone walks on it its just going to be dirty again you just have to do your best to keep it as clean as you can for as long as you can. I can't think of too many that like to scrub the toilet, but it has to be done and hopefully not by me, but i will do it if no one else will as i have to use it just as much as anyone else is so it is kind of everyone's responsibility. There are some people like my dad that enjoy doing the yardwork just for the chance to be outside and enjoy the nicer weather like it has been here recently as we just cleaned up all the cinders from the snow season to welcome in the spring. thanks for your comment.

It is definitely a plus to have one of them to do the dishes that way I just pop them in and let the machine do the work while I do other things. Where I live now they do not have one and they do it all by hand so that is a hard thing to get used to.

For me to be frank each and every work is difficult until we feel that we can do and we must do no other way. Once we get in to it like if you wont do it remains so for any long period of time and it becomes little more worst nothing other than that. Then if we start doing taking each and every work as responsibility we will do it. If we feel that we can't and why should we It's a very difficult task all the works come under difficult category. If we feel that work is worship and move on each and every work can be completed without any risk, difficulty, irritation, cleanly, and fast....all the works are difficult before they become easy....mean before the work gets over..its always difficult....If we show interest its easy.

the tasks definitely become more difficult if we put them off for too long better to just do them and get them over with as quickly as we can as there is always something else that needs to be done.

I usually don't clean the toilet, because the other member of my family does it, but I bet that this is the most unpleasant chore. From the chores that I do I could choose vacuum cleaning as the worst chore, because it takes so much time.

yeah as far as vacuuming goes not only does it take time, but it gets really hot from the heat of the vacuum. I don't care for cleaning the toilet either, but would have to do it when i lived with my parents, because no one else wanted to either and thankfully someone else does it here so for that i am grateful.

if when you say rubbish you are talking about garbage then yes we all seem to make a lot of garbage and when i have to take it out i try to do it as quickly as i can just in case something might have a hole in it or something, because that would not be fun to have to clean up.

I think that the worst chore is having to clean the toilet. On the Bottom is the dirtiest and its so hard to reach behind it. And also emptying the trash, I hate it when the bag either rips or stuff falls out. Oh and then picking up dog or cat poop. I dont know why but Our neighbors have dogs, and we dont have one. And their dog likes to use our grass as a bathroom. Ewww.

yeah it is really hard trying to get down and clean the toilet not just the scrubbing, but all the bending. yeah that can be no fun if the garbage falls out everywhere. I don't know why your neighbor would let their dog do that don't they have any respect for your property.

Any thing that is related to chore is a pain. LOL We have wood floors so we don't have to vacuum. However, sweeping the floor is a big pain. Next in line is mopping. We used to have a floor business. I have put in my share of time in the sweeping and mopping dept. Dusting is also a pain. We have lots of nick knacks. We hired our daughter to come and do the chores for us.

my parents have those tile floors not sure if it is linoleum or something else, but sometimes that is easier to clean sometimes stuff can really get stuck to it. It is nice that you kept that in the family instead hiring it out to someone else I'm sure she appreciated that. I don't really like to mop either and i think i am allergic to dust, because it really makes me sneezy.

The worst chore for me is putting the clothes away after I've had to wash them and fold them. It just irritates me when I have to do it all. The bathroom doesn't bother me that much. However, I can't stand to have to get up to dishes in the sink. I mean how difficult is it to put them in the dishwasher, but that's for another discussion.

yeah it is too much fun to have to put all the clothes away after washing and folding and lugging them to the bedroom. As for the dishwasher tell me about it now i don't live at my parents, but i will go over there to help out and no one but me apparently knows how to fill the dishwasher but they sure know how to dirty the dishes without a problem.
