i donot use the touch pad of my laptop and instead of this i have a laptop mouse and most of the time i use that. there are two reason behind this. it is easy to use mouse instead of touch pad second is that touch pad are more sensitive and get out of order easily. what are your preferences and experiences.

I don't use my laptop very often, so I never got comfortable using the touch pad. I always had control problems and scrolling problems, etc. So when Staples had a laser mouse for laptops on sale at a really great price, I got one. It is so much better and faster than using the touch pad. It is wireless and compact.

I bought a Dell Inspiron laptop in January. I had starting using the touch pad but it was so sensitive that when I was typing in here, it would cause my cursor to go all over the place and bring things up I didn't want, so since i have a mouse that I use instead, I just disabled it, but I can always enable ti at anytime. I find it is much easier to just leave it disabled as it isn't a big bother that way. I don't know why they are made to be so sensitive but they are, as it doesn't take much for them to go nuts. I prefer to use the mouse instead and that is what I will continue to use. Take care, and have a very good day.

Me too i dont use it that often or should i say i dont it at all. Im having a hard time using the touch pad where in its much more easier for me to scroll along using my mouse. And i get to finish my job easier, and faster with the use of mouse why do i have to burden myself of using the touchpad when i can always go for the mouse instead ;)

The problem is, if you use a mouse for a lap top, you must have a smooth surface to keep the mouse for scrolling. Since I use my lap top on the bed, I cannot use the external mouse, and so I prefer the touch pad of the lap top.

I use both of them but depend on the situation. When i'm in our office I would prefer to use an external usb mouse because it's much easier to operate than using the touch pad. But when i'm on a travel I don't have a choice but to use the touch pad because it's practical to use the using the external mouse. But to think of it as I have noticed that it's much faster doing things when using the touch pad because it's nearer with the keyboard I don't have move my hand farther.

I dont have laptop but when I used the laptop of my boyfriend I am having trouble using the touch pad. So I would prefer mouse and the use of mouse its so easy to navigate the screen.
