Greek yogurt ?

What's the differance between Greek & regular yogurt? I've been hearing alot bout Greek style yogurt but I have not tried it nor do I know much about it.

From what I understand Greek yogurt and more natural and better for you. To me it's very bitter. I tried it once and couldn't stand it. Then I tried a different brand just for the heck of it and I still couldn't gag it down. I'll just stick with regular yogurt thank you. You may like it though, give it a try.

Greek yogurt is strained before packaging and that causes it to be thicker(about the thickness of sour cream). I have used it in recipes before and I have also strained plain regular yogurt to make it thicker when I did not have Greek yogurt. I think Greek yogurt tastes great.

Hi 3S..Greek yogurt is simply a lot thicker than regular yogurt. If you have a recipe that calls for it, dont buy it..Its expensive..Make your own, its simple. All you do is take a container of regular plain yogurt, place it in a paper towel lined strainer over a bowl and let all the liquid drain out. This takes a couple hours and bingo..Greek yogurt..I make it all the time then add various fruits, honey etc. Its delicious..
