Having assembled pcs for a number of years i am now curious about how much you spend when building a new machine. i spent about 500-600€ (don't buy monitor, keyboard, mouse) on average and it usually gives me about 3-4 years before i decide to get a new one. They are powerful at the time (not top of the line) and silent

The computer I'll be buying costs about €670, so without screen, keyboard, mouse or music boxes. As long as you assemble it yourself, it costs less, as you probably know =)

I don't build my own computer, so i buy them, and the laptop i am using, I purchased in January of this year and I paid $698. It is a nice laptop for the price, as it have everything on it that I need, and then some. It has a big hard drive in ti too, and lots of ram, and of cours Windows 7, so I am all set. I do have a desktop that was custom built by my son in law, and it has Windows XP on it. I gave the loaptop to my grandson that had Windows Vista on it. Of all the computers I have had, I like this one the best, and I am glad that i did buy it as Windows 7 seems very stable, and Microsoft did something right finally. Take care, and have a very good day.

I'd spend not more than 500 Euros for both computer and display because I don't see what more I'd need than a PC with a dual core processor, 4GB RAM, 250GB HDD and a decent LCD monitor.
