I was watching this health program many years ago and there was a doctor and he was talking about stress. He said that if you are fatigue from work or if you experience tiredness from physical work it is good to eat banana for dessert because banana helps your body to recover from physical stress. Well I was very skeptical at first so what I did is to try it for myself it if it was true. One day when my son was younger there was an activity in their school and they were celebrating United Nations day and it required parents participation. Each room was assign to a country and I remember my sons' room was assign to Papua New Guinea. We decorate the room to look like Papua New Guinea. It was so fun and I got carried away and we finish decorating it around 5 am in the morning and I was home around 5.30 am and had to go back to school at 8am and at around 10 am the judges will go around the rooms to judge. To make the story short, we won first prize for room decoration and costume. That evening I was so tired and I remember about the banana and so I ate one that evening. The next morning I felt so refresh. So since then whenever my family going through physical stress we eat banana for desserts and we feel much better the next day. By the way it was Doctor Don Colbert who suggested that eating banana is good when you are tired.

It is amazing how good bananas can be for you! Not only are they healthy but they are my very favorite fruit! I also like to eat a banana each night and it makes me feel great every morning! I think that is awesome that your sons class won first prize for all the work you put into the decorations for the room! Glad you won and I wish i could have seen it! Happy Mylotting!

It was a tough competition because at that time my son was in kindergarten and we have to compete with elementary and high school. The children were dress in Papua New Guinea costume and they look so cute. We were so surprise when we got first prize it was really unexpected. I forgot how much money we won but we use it for the Christmas party.

Bananas are good for so many things including keeping your legs from getting cramps. Bananas have potassium that helps in preventing the cramps. Bananas also have Vitamin B6 and B12 along with magnesium. The peel is also good for reducing wrinkles on your face and the bags under your eyes. You rub the inner part of the peel onto the eye area. Who would have thought such a thing. I just wonder who thought of this to try it in the first place.

I also heard that if you rub the inner part of the peel on your skin, it is good for mosquito repellant. I haven't tried that method yet and thank you for the information on eye bags and wrinkles. I will definitely try that one.

Its a cheapest fruit and very good for my digestion. I take at nights and feel better if i have digestion problems. And for lean people, it helps to add weight due to its calories.

I believe eating banana helped alot too but dont you think that the main reason why you feel refreshed that time was the fact that you got to rest alot? sometimes when our body feels so tired and stressed out we need to rest alot. In order for our senses to be ok again, eating healthy foods helps alot too just like what gerry did.But you wont feel good or even better just by eating good food alone you need to take some good rest too and everything will be better the next day ;)

I had a supervisor once when I was a caseworker who ate a banana every morning at his desk. I have to admit, he had a lot of energy. He was also in the army reserves and would sometimes fly medical relief missions over the weekends but he seemed to always show up for work on time and ready to go. I try to eat bananas here and there but they just are not my favorite fruit and I can take them or leave them. Now, if you could only make those claims for tangerines, I'd be a ball of energy (at least duirng tangerine season) because I love tangerines. lol.

Hi, friend. What you mentioned about banana is quite right. I once read of it in a book too. It says that if you feel tired after a long time working(mental tiredness, i mean), a banana can help you regain energy. I tried it too and it really works.

Well yes i always think thats the best fruit and cheapest with rich benefits. I take banana regularly for proper digestion, energy and proper stomach. It also gives weight for lean people like me. I can say people of even old ages can take this fruit and it helps their digestion too.. lots and lots are there in banana.

hello gerry101. thank you so much for the topic. thank you so much for sharing. i appreciate it very much. over here, bananas are everywhere and they season throughout the year. it is such a common fruit that i have sinfully taken it for granted. your article has rekindled in me the benefits of eating banana. i have overlooked this fact probably for years now. i should start eating one especially when i'm tired. thank you so much.

Banana's are my favorite fruit, and I feel they have so many benefits, I have never read about them helping you have energy but I guess it makes sense, I always feel like I have more life in me after I have had one, I tend to eat them chopped up on cereal as I feel more full after. Didnt know about the banana peel wrinkle thing, not sure I want to try it either lol!
