That is the beauty of MyLot. You learn something new everyday. Bittergourd! Thank you, lady1993. I really hate eating this vegetable. I only force myself to swallow them lately when my mom cooks it because according to her, this vegetable is good in getting rid of toxins that are found in the blood. Well, I'm not getting any younger and my skin is no longer as blemish-free as before so whether I don't like it or I really don't like it, I have no other choice but to swallow it followed by a glass of water. I pray that I don't choke in the process. I still want to see my future grandkids. Hahaha!

I wont say I like this vegetable, but I do eat it. When it is prepared properly it does not taste that bitter, besides it is supposed to have medicinal effects. I have to eat it once in while no other go :(

It depends on how it's cooked. Even my kids eat that vegetable.

I used to avoid eating bitter gourd when I was younger because I heard from other people that it's bitter. But,now, I love eating it especially when it has egg with it. It's delicious and I know it's good for anemic people. My mom would always buy one serving of it from a nearby canteen since my sister is working in a call center.

You may lessen the bitter taste by soaking sliced bitter gourd in water with enough amount of salt. Try it yourself, I'm sure you will appreciate its uniqueness among other vegetables. Add up tomatoes, bell pepper and eggs to improve its taste. Hmmm...Yummy!
