It seems people want to get rid of Ronald McDonald. Well not so much people but an organization called Corporate Accountibility International. Their claim is that Ronald is a tool for marketing unhealthy food. They seem to completely ignore the fact that the Ronald McDonald name and character have also done a lot of good, think Ronald McDonald House. For the full story you can go here: http://cbs2chicago.com/business/ronald.mcdonald.retirement.2.1599433.html I think the whole thing is rediculas. Why can't people just let other people make their own decisions about what to eat and what not to eat. McDonalds has the right to have a mascot if they like and they have the right to advertise their products. Sure it is not the healthiest food to eat, but don't we all know that. Everything is fine in moderation though and an occasional trip to McDonalds isn't going to kill the average person. Sure there are those who are to reliant on fast food, but that is their doing, that is their choice, there is enough information out there to tell them that eating this kind of food all the time is bad for them. It's no secret. McDonalds makes their nutritional information easily available they are not hiding anything. If people find McDonalds too unhealthy then they can choose not to eat there. But they should really let others decide for themselves. Whose next Chuckee from Chuckee Cheese, Snap, Crackle, and Pop, the Captain from Captain Crunch? Give me a break, companies have the right to advertise their products, it is up to people themselves to decide what is healthy for them and their families. OK let the debate begin, I have given my opinion, feel free to share yours. Be nice feel free to agree or disagree with me, but be polite about it, this is a grown up discussion.

I seen that someone else had posted about this, but I didn't go read it. I also think it's ridiculous!! Burger King, now he can go LOL You are right...Ronald McDonald is an icon and the Ronald McDonald Houses have helped many!! People can make their own decisions, and honestly, I'm sure adults don't go there because of Ronald McDonald...although their kids might beg them to because they like him. It's more the Happy Meals though. :) Marsha

I agree, it is the peoples choice to at McDonalds, but they also have healthy food, and people are not choosing the healthy foods, that is their fault. If I am not mistaken, McDonalds also collects the pop tabs for the dialysis machines and I have been giving away mine to them for years..
