Hi chavezrmc, I expect that you will get responces from a lot of people quoting the Bible and saying that good deeds cannot save you. There may also be a few who will agree with you. Personally, I think quite differently because I don't think there is anything to be saved from. I don't believe in the traditional heaven and hell but in spirirual evolution. When one gives thought to the idea of a heaven with streets paved in gold, it makes little sense and seems to have been dreamed up for the very poor in the middle ages. I am only expressing a personal opinion and don't mean to upset anyone as I feel that everything is working out in divine order and no one has anything to fear. Blessings.

Spoken very well! This I have found as a hidden truth from Jakob Lorber's New Revelation. Bible actually is the basement of a development as you describe it. What you name "divine order" is described in the Lorber texts as "Household of God". And Jesus himself is joking through Lorber's words about the naive "Roman Catholic heaven".

i think some what. when we really follow a religion. religion does not ever tell to do bad things even to convert other forcefully or ever to kill innocent. so in my view if i really follow the religion there are very fine rule what should i do in any odd state.
as in my religion it is written that my religion is to work and dont worry for the result.

Religion can't save a person and it certainly can't save the world...though as far as individual ppl goes it can help them save themselves..The only thing that can save the world IMO is for the masses to pull their heads out of their a$$es and realize that religion ISNT goin to help..which just isnt goin to happen..not in my lifetime at least...

Let me start like this:personaly i don't agree with the "definition" humanity gave to religion.But I do belive in God.Regarding your topic,i believe that each one of the human kind should take care of his/her spiritual education so that we won't ask(hope) it will save us,but we will just live trough it. Having faith reflects the way we are living.

Religion is nothing but belief. How much u got belief in the religion belongs to your involvement in that religion. And all religion in this world teach you to live a peaceful life. So i conclude that religion will definitely save you only when u obey the religion whole heartedly.
