Why Can't You Laugh At Religion?

I too feel that people are very sensitive about their religious beliefs and religion.They are so intolerant that they are unable to hear any criticism about their religion even if it is true . The very same people are ready to criticise other religions when they have the opportunity.It is nothing but double standard. I personally am ready for any kind of discussion or debate about my religion , because every religion has its drawbacks and strength..

I salute your courage and bravery to talk such kind of things against the Catholic Church. What made you so vocal against them? Are you aware they are so very powerful, they have all the gold, and they have intelligence that supersede those of the CIA? Are you aware they have an organization or an "order" created to terminate people like you just like they did during the "inquisition" days?

I believe God has a sense of humor, and I think humor can be used effectively to get important messages across to people; but don't mock Him.

i think a politician is responsible for his act. but religion is treated in different way. this is a pure and bigger thing for many people. you cant make jokes just on greater personalities as it is. so there is the same thing with religions. may be some followers of any religion are on wrong way using the name of religion. but it does not mean that particular religion is bad.

religion...what is religion? islam, christianity, hinduism, buddhism, etc...that's it? what do religion have to offer to mankind...division and differences! if we have to believe in god then lets's believe in one god that have no religion! but i guess this discussion is not about that. it's about the differences that religion creates among people. religion can be changed and i've seen people convert their religion into another. the term 'religion' is shifting more towards the way people live and follow certain norms. religion is about people's nature and culture, habit, way of living, etc. but the truth is their are many religions(i'm yet to understand the term 'religion' fully) but what you follow is the true religion for 'YOU'.

Religion is sacred. Its normal to not be able to laugh. One can laugh with free will but it will haunt that person soon enough.

I can laugh at Zombie Jesus and Soccer goalie Jesus with the best of them.

I don't think that religions can be made fun of because there are a lot of catholic followers that aren't corrupt priests molesting children. I'm not sure how it got be like that but I'm certain that God didn't intend for people that stand as huge religious icons to take advantage of children. I believe that the priests that committed the acts deserve to be made fun of indeed. I don't think that people with true beliefs and true faith should be made fun of because of some weak minds that some how apparently became pope along the way. Seriously if you have that much control over a mass amount of people you have to make decisions for the whole entire self and can't act in lust because we've seen what that gets us.

Because there is no point in comparing a politician with religion. God is bigger than anything for a religious person. Your comparison is not valid. I really feel sorry you cant have joy in your life(or at least that is what you show). The Catholic Church MEMBERS have made a mistake, and has being acknowledge,the molesters dont even reach 0.5% of the whole, yet the press is making it bigger than it seems(not defending it, just pointing facts, the priests that are found guilty should be punished by the law). Most of the press dont follow this cases and sometimes they(the priests) have been proven innocent. A case sometime ago, a priest was being accused and in the end was proven innocent and he had to shown his organ didnt work or something like that, sorry but i dont know how to explain it english, yet the international press didnt talk about it. As far as i know they are already working on solutions as the press has pointed(guess you miss the positive things on the news). I can take a joke, if its not plain mean and offensive.

If anyone starts treating religion as laughing matter it would then no longer be dignified and somber in character.

We all can laugh at anything we want, we are free person. Free to feel what and when we want. Me and my friends make a lot of religion jokes and we laugh together and is that. No one is wrong, joke is joke, we have to know how to separate and stop to being idiots prohibiting people of laugh. God would not be proud of it, haha.
