For those of you who live alone........

queen size bed - new bed set
United States

I was just wondering something as I climbed into bed. It's just me and my pup (which isn't very big) and I have a queen size bed. All to myself, lol. When I travel I always book a room with a king size bed. I was just wondering how many mylotters have a queen or king size bed, and yet they sleep alone. Is it because of all the room? What size bed do you have, and why?

Hey palonghorn! I have lived alone for most of my adult life and have always had a queen sized bed! I loved taking up the whole bed, at least almost all of it, except for my cats! Right now I am sharing it with my bf/roomate (but probably not for much longer) and I hate it! He moves around too much and I like my space! We have been living together for about 2 1/2 years and I am still not used to sharing my queen and neither are my poor cats! They want him gone!lol

Yeah, I share my bed too, with Maggie, my pup. lol I have a friend that comes up about once a month and spends the weekend with me. I have to say, over the past several years I have gotten so used to sleeping alone that it bugs me lol. It's not that he hogs the blankets, and he never tries to take over my side, it just bugs me lol Guess I've gotten too used to sleeping alone, even when I lived with my ex, he usually ended up falling asleep and sleeping on the couch.

A king size bed would be very nice I suppose but I live in a one bedroom flat and I only have a single sized bed! This is suitable for my needs! I suppose the good think about sleeping in a king size bed is the fact that you will be protected from falling out! Maybe I should take some measurements to see if I could get one in but I'm sure it would be pretty tight! Also, when travelling, that must be quite expensive if you are booking a room with a king size bed in it. I guess if you don't mind paying the extra then it's ok. I'm also looking into the idea of purchasing one of those loft beds that have four posts and the matress is almost touching the ceiling! There's lots of space for other things underneath! I think it's quite expensive though. Anyway, I think I will put up with my single bed for now! Andrew

Actually, I book online and it's the same price as a room with two queen size beds, so there is no extra cost there. Maybe you should take some measurements, it's surprising sometimes what you can fit in a room.

I have a California King which is slightly bigger than a usual King, and I live alone. A lot of times though I leave books on the unoccupied half, so it's also a bookcase Oh, I have some clothes on it as well, so also a shelf, or a closet. I mainly got it because it has six drawers along to bottom to put underwear, polo shirts, anything that doesn't need to be hung in the closet.

I've been known to leave my book or computer on the other side, but not too often. I love those beds with the drawers, especially if it's not a big room with room for a dresser.

Hi, palonghorn. To my understanding we have a queen sized air bed at this moment. We chose this bed size so that we all could have enough of room to lay down on it. It is me, my husband, and two daughters ages 4 and 2 years old. We want to get an bed that is much bigger. And soon my oldest daughter will have her own bed to lay in herself.

I have a queen size bed and I sleep alone. I have that size because I'm use to that size bed. Anything smaller just wouldn't be comfortable for me. A full size bed is good for a night or so but not everynight. I like alot of space so that if I roll over I don't roll on to the floor. With a queen size bed there is plenty of room and you can fit plenty of pillows on the bed too, since I like alot of pillows. I sleep with 4 pillows on my bed.

I have an ordinary plain twin bed.(I think that's what the smallest kind is called) and though I suppose its big enough for me and my cat, I do wish I had a bigger one. When I go to a motel I like the fact that I can just spread out, and have all that extra room. Though I'm used to sleeping on a smaller bed. My room is quite small so a king or queen bed would be impractical.

I sleep on a single bed, you might find it quite small. .. i am used to sleeping over in small spaces too, lol i can even share the bed with my friend, there have been times when we shared a single bed ... i would love to sleep on a king size bed, i would sleep and roll over many times. .. nevertheless i am quite comfortable sleeping on my tiny little bed in my hostel room.

Wow, that sounds nice I have a normal sized bed, as I live in a small apartment. I don't really need more space to sleep, and when I go to a hotel, I always sleep in normal sized beds too. I don't really move on my sleep, so I don't need to stretch

Well i have double bed, when i was young and i sleep in it alone. The reason my mom prefered i always roll in the bed. And sometimes i even fall down and sleeping on floor at the morning. So i always sleep on double bed with pillows to safeguard.
