After the half way stage in the ongoing IPL it seems that Mumbai Indians are the team to beat. They have a good balance in all the department of the game.Their batting looks solid with the inform Sachin leading them. They even have Shikar Dhawan , Saurabh Tiwary , Ambati Rayudu & Rajagopal Sathish who are capable of playing in the national side as well. Then they have the West Indians Keiron Pollard & Dwayne Brovo as all rounders & who are capable of destroying any bowlers & who can mesmerize batsmen with their guile. Coming to the bowling department for the Mumbai Indians , I think they have the best attack in this years IPL.They have Harbhajan Singh , Zaheer Khan , Lasith Malinga , Bravo , Pollard & Ryan Mclaren. What other bowling combination ca they ask for? Can Mumbai Indians win this years IPL?

It's true that Mumbai Indians are on a role in this edition of ipl. They seem to have the right balance in their side. However let me spell out a few things which I noticed in their team composition..1)They played a majority of home games which is an added advantage for them..2)A majority of times they won the toss and chose to bat thereby exploiting the freshness of the pitch as the game got older the pitch got slower thereby making stroke play difficult..3)Except Harbhajan there bowling attack is more or less predictable..they have slow and medium pace bowlers in their rank..4)They have not been tested too much in the away matches as they played mostly at home..5)The team peaked at a very early stage and that is an ominous sign it means that the graph can go downwards anytime and then it will be difficult to arrest the slide..6)I will like to see how the team fares against left arm pacers.Still like the saying goes that make hay while the sun shines Mumbai Indians are doing just that and they are almost in the semis. All the best Mumbai and The Little Master.

Hello Naxous! You really have noticed a lot. 1. If home games are an advantage then what about Deccan Chargers? 2. Yes winning the toss plays an important role. 3. With Malinga & Zaheer you have the variety & with Bravo you have the guile. 4. Away matches might make a difference. 5. This makes everyone to think that MI wont win the tournament as they have peaked too early. 6. I think left arm pacers will make that much of a difference to MI as they would have faced Zaheer in the nets a lot. But overall a good thinking & summary

The Deccan Chargers have lost most of their home matches since the inception of the IPL.So you cant say the teams have the home advantage. To tell you the fact Deccan Chargers did not won a single game in their home matches in the IPL edition 1.The second edition was played in South Africa & I dont know about it in this edition.

Hi krupesh I can't understand what you wanted to say about Deccan Chargers. They played their home game against MI in Mumbai and so it was similar to an away game for them.Still I believe that MI will definitely make it to the semifinals but there will be a few reversals on their way and it's obvoious in aleague tournament. Iused the statement about left arm pacers as Sachin got out to Vaas in numnerous iccassions in international cricket and so there is a psychological advantage that Vaas has over Sachin.However.DC didn't use him against the little champion. The pace of Malinga and Zahreer and other bowlers are almost similar. It's somewhat like the South African side in international cricket and surely they will need to change the composition of the etam when they play away from their home. It's true that they are performing but in pitches where there will be assistance for spinners will MI stick to the same combination?

Mumbai Indians stands best right now.The legend of Indian cricket Sachin supports them as a pillar. They have played 8 matches and have won 7 of them with 14 points. They have high chance of winning the IPL matches if everything goes well without any fall off.

I have not written off Rajasthan Royals, and Royal Challengers. While Malinga is the great destroyer, now starts the real challenge for the team.

You can never say what may happen in the semi-finals. If its a bad day for mumbai indians then no one can help them to win on that day. Its all luck and form for the players. But if you look at their current form surely they are one of the favorites to win IPL3. Wish them Good Luck.

hi krupesh, being from Mumbai, naturally i am rooting for the Mumbai Indian team in the IPL. In this edition the team has put in a superlative performance and is easily the best and most well balanced team amongst all the team. Moreover Sachin has shown full faith in his young Indian players by sending them in advance of his international players. The captain is himself leading from the front as can be seen from his consistent performance throughout the tournament. He is fully pumped up and is an inspiration for his team members as also for all young aspiring cricketeers. MI is certainly the team most likely to win the cup and have made winning a habit going by their consistency. However T 20 is a very unpredictable format and nothing can be said till the very last ball is bowled. Moreover till yesterday`s match all their matches were on their home ground and from now on they will be playing on other grounds. It remains to be seen whether they can be as consistent there too. The only factor missing is that they do not have a second spinner to back up Harbhajan. If they had one then they would have been the best team.Unfortunately Jayasuriya is completely out of form otherwise he would have been an asset to the team with his spinning options.Nevertheless MI has it in them to win the IPL and i am keeping my fingers crossed.

Hello Veejay ! Yes they look a very formidable side. But as you said this format is very unpredictable & if you see most of the times , the team which wins almost all in the league will be the one to be knocked out first & I hope its not this time around.I want a good team to win & this time its looking that MI have that in them.

Hiya krupesh, Really I don´t have a clue who is the best team in Cricket at all in any Country. Have to say that it is a very under rated game too. It´s very much like other Sports that don´t get very much coverage where we are as it´s all Football hey I like Football but not in very large doses. I used to watch Cricket in England and being completely ignorant of who is the best team of any side may the best team win any way. I will look it up though to see what´s going on. Golf gets a lot of coverage here but Cricket would be on when everyone is supposed to asleep. I think Eurosport covers this quite a lot too and they have excellent commentators but I don´t have Eurosport anymore. Hope your favourite team wins. We did play Cricket when we were at School so I did enjoy this as a Game itself. We were taught to respect any Sport no matter what and that has stayed with me.

hello angel! We were taught to respect any Sport no matter what and that has stayed with me Really one should appreciate the ones who taught you to respect each & every sport.Cricket is one sport which can make most of the Indians leave their regular work & make them watch the matches on T.V.That too with a new format like IPL the people have become even more crazier.

They stand a very good chance to win the trophy this year---with the superb batting of sachin,Dhawan,Tiwary,Rayadu----their top and middle order looks great and need to mention about bravo and pollard two awesome all rounders who can turn the match into their favour.Another teams to look out for would be RCB and Delhi daredevils---they have devastating batsmen too who turn the match around with huge shots.Eagerly looking for the fourth team which can make it to the fourth slot.great day.

Mumbia Indians is the best team of IPL-3. Grand opening in the first half which leads the IPL-3 in top. Sachin played a key role in leading mumbia Indians. His opening to innings are simply superb. Every innings of his is special. He is in such a fantastic form. MI team has a superb team. All the members of the team having the ability to bat and it made the team in top position in IPL-3.
