When me and my family goes to the church we sat around the front so that we can hear the homily clearly but lately I have been sleeping even when the mass is starting, so usually miss the homily, how about you?

Hi Buccha, For me, Homily is one of the most important parts of the Holy Eucharist. It is my most awaited part where I can hear the words of the Lord delivered by his preacher. Attending mass and not hearing the homily will not be complete.

I think so too, without hearing the homily is just like missing the whole mass.

well whenever i go to church and sometimes when im at the back or outside the church because there's too many people inside the church the speaker outside the church sometimes don't help cause sometimes i can't understand what the priest homily is because of some sort of sound or maybe echo of from the speaker.but if im inside and near to the priest i intend to listen very carefully for the homily

some of the sound system of todays churches are not that clear anymore, some sound system are so old that it can be put in the antique shop and can be auction for millions hehe, yeah when your late for the mass you must sit or stand at the back or even outside the church, its so uncomfortable to hear the preaching when your dripping with sweat because of standing and adding to that you can't really understand the mass because of the old system, its good to be early ans sit at the front and hear the preach.

Before, I don't mind if we miss it but after knowing the importance of it, I listen to it now and it is most important part for me. Actually, now I just listen to TV mass and sometimes go to church, I missed it today....

That is also what I am thinking because hearing the mass has its meaning, each reading and homily has its lessons to be learned the problem is the people today just go to mass and don't listen, they think that just by going to the mass will make them closer to our creator but in fact the substance of the mass is the most important thing, they teach us somethings about how can we be better person, better christians or whatever, my point is hearing the mass and listening to it is a good thing. If you listen well it will do you good.
