My dad and mom always have used cash for everything except when needed visa (such as denist payments, etc - but never for food or something) and my aunts and cousins and such all use debit or credit cards for eveythign they do! So growing up I have had the chance to see both sides of the coin as to what to do with my money in forms of payment. I personally find cash great because you dont get interest or anythign like that and you know exactly how much you have and how much you need to do something like get home in a cab while your at the bar (after, of course, you just spent all your limit). But then, credit cards do have their benefits. Areoplan miles are my thing so I will use my credit card on certain things - groceries for example. Those I find don't bvary in price and if I can afford it than I will. I will keep tab of everything I buy and put that away in cash so I can pay rigth away. I get the miles and spend it like cash (except a little more work is put into it).

I use my credit card for everything but I pay it every month. Doing that I do not have bid interest. But the credit card , even using it like that, gives me prizes in dolars. They are associated with a travel agency and I can pay any air fare in part with that money. The only thing I must remember is to only buy what I can pay. Happy posting!

I only use my credit card in special moments, like when I need more money than I am carrying with me. Lately I use cash more often, as I have a direct control of what I use. When you pay with a card you know how much you are spending, but as you don't see the physical money, you don't feel it the same.

Yes I use credit card..and I can say that it has good benefits in case of emergencies for example..and unlike cash it is so convenient to use and not bulky as well..although there are debit cards I feel safe to have both in my pocket..=) As long as you can pay before the cut off date then there will be no problem..and of course limit your purchases as well..just use it wisely ;)

We do not have any credit cards at all. I think, at times that having one or two might come in handy, but, any time I think about it, I come to the same conclusion, we have enough bills to pay and really do not need another one added to the mix. So, we have a simple rule that we follow...if we do not have the money for something, we don't need it that badly. If we can't afford it, we don't get it. I think that this line of thinking has helped us to stay out of debt, where many other people that we know are in debt up to there ears. That is not to say that we have absoolutely no debt at all, we do have some prior bills and doctor bills that we are trying to take care of, but at least we are not sitting on a mountain of credit card debt where we cannot even see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I used to have a credit card, but I've cancel it last year, because I didn't think I needed it anymore for the possession of my debit card.Credit card do have its advantages, but there's somewhere you can't pay with cards but cash.

yes i do... it is just because i can earn the points and convert them to cash... also, i have the benefit of extra time to pay for my purchases... i just have to make sure that i spend within my limit and i have the money to pay the bills every month on time so that i won't be charged for the interest... so far, it is working really well for me... take care and have a nice day...

Hello, I use credit card, I almost never pay cash. But if I have to go to market for example I always have to stop by cash point and take out some cash that I don't like! I really like paying by credit card because then none knows how much money you really have in your wallet! Happy mylotting!

no, not really. i motto is, 'swipe in case of emergency.' if i have cash, then i will not use my credit card. if i want to purchase an item, ill use cash. i always tell myself that if i cannot buy an item in cash, then i should not be buying it in the first place. it only means that i cannot afford it, thus i need not buy it. but then again, if the situation demands that i use the credit card, like in a hospital (for confinement) then ill use the plastic card.

I agree with you, they definitely both have their pros and cons. I usually use my debit card because my check is directly deposited into my bank account every week. Most weeks I get some cash back with a purchase, and that way I can choose whether to use my card or cash. Some people only use cash because that way they don't spend all of their money, they can physically see how much they have left. And I hate breaking big bills! That definitely makes me spend it faster.

Hi artsyfartsygypsy, I never apply for any credit card even if they launch their great promotions. Even though having a credit card is very useful especially if we need the cash immediately, but it is bring more harm then good to me. It is encourage me to spend more then what I can afford to. That's might bring me to own more and more money to the bank and at the worst point might cause me to declare bankrupt. I do not believe that I can resist the sales promotion every time I go to the mall. As for now, that I does not have any credit card, I would not dare to buy those thing because I knew I do not have much money in my pocket. I do not think I can feel the same when I have a credit card.

yes,i use credit card when i shopping in the mall, firstly,it is very convenient for using credit card, you dont need to take you small change purse, and sometimes it is a not safe things to take a lot of cash in your purse on the street, for you may come across thief. And also you can manage you account book online, and landdown it from online bank. However, there is one disadvantage for me that money spend extremely fast than use cash in my life.

i don't and i don't recommend it cause it's a cause of temptation you could buy anything you want if you have a credit card but after you enjoy you have a lot to pay because of it even if you think you could be a wise credit card user

I don't use credit cards. I think it's one of the reasons why people spend too much money. Well, if you can control your spendings then i guess it's fine for you. My aunt is a control freak but she can't control her compulsive buying cuz of her credit card.

My dad give me card as his supplementary, so I have the chance to used a credit cards. But I only used it if needed like I no longer dont have cash but I need to eat and buy some foods. That's the only time I used credit cards. Sometimes I used it for my friend to borrow something but they will pay it next month with an interest even if they are on time to pay. Unlike the 5-6 interest credit cards interest is much more ok than the 5-6%.

To be honest unless you pay off they balance in full every month they can be a lot of trouble. The minute I turned 18 I started having all these credit card info sent to me, and me being a young and no so sensible 18yr old decided to take one out, just because I liked the look of it, I was up to my limit in a few months, every time I went out I was like "oh I'll just use my card instead of getting cash" ended up in a lot of debt, thankfully this debt is paid off now, but Ive learnt my lesson, I dont have any credit cards, I might use my debit card but that comes straight out of my bank so no need to worry about debt, now I just think if I dont have the money in the bank, then Im not getting it!
