hello jugsjugs, hehe, sounds very much like me and my husband & our friends! but i think our friends takes the game more seriously than us. anyway, i think its because there's some sort of competition between friends on a particular games, some just enjoys it and gives a sense of fulfillment whenever they saw how their farm grows...and its really fun decorating the farm!

Yeah I was addicted a while ago. I was playing about six Facebook games up until a couple of months ago when I decided enough is enough. I knew i was spending too much time on them so I deleted them all. It was kind of hard to do but I did it and I am so glad I did. They are so addictive, I really can not figure out why these games have sucked so many people in. I have a friend who is so intelligent and used to spend his free time designing mathematical animations. Now he;s addicted to Facebook games and not only does he play about five or six games, he also has ten extra Facebook accounts so he can send gifts to himself. It's out of control, I don't know what the attraction is but my advice is- if you haven't gotten hooked yet, STAY AWAY! SAVE YOURSELF!

I consider myself a bit of a gamer but no game as ever made me addicted to an extreme like with some people, I've heard of people becoming addicted to facebook games, but I dont get why because a lot of facebook games are a bit simple to me, meaning there fun but there isent much to them, but I guess I'll never understand why people become addicted to things, thankfully most of the time games are harmless big emphasis on most of the time.

I really don't know either maybe because the games in facebook is somewhat family oriented, simple and cute. Kids of all ages can play facebook games and somehow it promoted a new gaming experience that everyone can enjoy

I don't know too. I heard from my brother that he need to rent a computer for internet because his plants in his garden will dry up. It is called Farmville. I never experienced playing this one. Maybe some of them gets addicted that is why they are worried and take this one seriously. I don't want to try the games although they are enjoyable because I don't want to take it seriously too.

My husband participates in a Facebook application kind of like what you described. He gets so intense and into it that I just have to chuckle and leave the room. I had the same app, but got so sick of it because I thought it was boring! Shame on me not to participate - he he! (It's the MouseHunt app, in case you were wondering.) He and my mother-in-law share cheese and other things with each other, and I just sit back and laugh at them. I know what it's about since I tried it, but I now choose not to participate! At least I tried it...I have a couple apps I like on there, but I try not to get too into them. I like the game Farkle 2, but if it gets too intense, I have to stop and take a MyLot break - LOL! If I sit there too long playing it, nothing around the house will get done, and I won't make payout at the end of month on MyLot! So...I use MyLot as my good excuse not to get into Facebook apps too much because they are a waste of time compared to spending time with my friends here and making money!

i may have an account with facebook but as long as i can resist, i avoid playing games when i get there. i receive a lot of invitations from friends to join them in playing farmville, and others. but i still cannot figure out what is with them that they become so addicted and serious with those applications and games.

as for me, i have my facebook but i'm not go into their game. because i don't have my own computer. and it is needed most of time to open your facebook to continue your game. it can make you to challenge everyday in order to see the beauty of your game.. that's why i don't want because it can make you addicted.

People take the games on seriously because of the entertainment that they get, and perhaps they enjoy meeting new and old friends on facebook.

Maybe because they are just excited to explore more bout those games, because these games are just simple but hey so addictive too.Sometimes sharing ideas of information about certain stuff like games makes people closer, because they have alot to share about the said content they are able to connect with each others likes and dislikes as well.Just let them be for as long as they are having fun and nobody is hurt in the process i think thats just fine . Try it for yourself as well who knows maybe theres an application that you will like too

I think it is because we get addicted, and we want to be the best. We want to do better than others and when we do we talk about it. It makes us feel we are good at it and we want others to know it.

Hi, jugsjugs. I wonder the same thing too. My cousins that were on facebook liked the games too. I don't see what was so fun about it. I guess they must have liked winning and moving up to higher levels. It did not appeal to me when I was on there.

Haven't you ever gotten into something and enjoyed it so much you find yourself totally under its spell. And what better way for son and father to bond?! Looks like a win-win situation to me. Teachs them comeradery, competition, love of family, etc. I think it is great! And at some point they may even tire of it.

I have played a few games on Facebook but I never got addicted to them like some people do. I know a friend that plays the one game all of the time. He got layed off and now all he does is play games. Maybe it helps to relive the stress of not having a job. His family went on a short vacation, and his wife told him he was not allowed to take the laptop and play games the whole time they were away. I don't remember what the game was called, but I tried it and I didn't see anything different about it.

For Money. Karna's games can make money on FaceBook. Although the game was banned: "Game of gambling" for example.
