My son is currently 13 months old now. He likes to play with water. This evening we brought him to the swimming pool so that he could play the water beside the swimming pool. And we let him see us swimming in the pool. He was quite happy with today activities at swimming pool. Then my hubby and i thought we should let our son play the water in the pool, and i thought perhaps it's good idea to teach him how to swim. But our problem is we don't know how to teach a baby swim. There are some benefits of baby swimming that i found from net. The benefits of taking your baby swimming are numerous and include: * it is crucial that babies acquire different kinds of movements and physical abilities during their first year of life, in order to promote the development of higher functions of the brain. Swimming gives babies free movement, meaning they can develop actions they wouldn't otherwise have had the opportunity to experience; * despite the relatively gentle structure of the lessons, each provides a complete physical work-out: strengthening your baby's heart, lungs and respiratory system - which again aids development of the brain; * swimming is excellent for improving core muscle development and co-ordination; * regular swimming often improves eating and sleeping patterns; * learning to respond to commands can make your baby sharper mentally, increasing levels of awareness and understanding; * it's fun, socially stimulating (for both you and your baby!) and an excellent way to bond with your child. So, do you teach your baby swim? When do your kids start learning swimming?? Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

I took my daughter to the local swimming pool when she was around eight months old, the reason for that was to have her confident in water. We kept going swimming a couple of times a week until she felt no longer afraid of the water; at this stage a bought her a pair of floaties so she could swim around on her own; that was a big breakthrough! When she turned four I booked her in for swimming lessons which she has been doing for the past four years and she is a good little swimmer now. When they are still babies you can’t expect too much but they can certainly learn not to be afraid and to float so they don’t drown.

I'd want my child to learn how to swim right now. Haha! She's 9 months old now, and I think that swimming will help develop her body and internal organs, just like what your research says. Thing is, I don't know how to swim so maybe I'd check out some swimming lessons for babies.

Moms need exercise after the baby is born and swimming is great. I have taken my kids as early as six months. I don't dump them in the water but introduce them and they usually start taking to it around a year old. Each child is different and they definitely need the physical strength. My grandson who is seven used to scream and developed great lungs early on.

As far as I remember my son start swimming in the beach when he was 8 months. It was my mother who is eager to put him the water although he has his own life saver jacket. we just put the life saver jacket and we let him kick his legs. At that time he still dont know what to do but he enjoy the water even if he keeps on drinking water from the beach. Now he is already 8 yrs I enrolled him in swimming lesson to improve his skills.
