Half of Deccan Chargers' batting is useless!

DC lost to RR by 2 runs with 1 ball to spare. Any other team would have won but DC was helpless. There is no other team in IPL3 with, as weak as the Deccan Chargers' lower batting line up. Why they are in team? Only Gilly, Gibbs, Symonds and Rohit have to perform and all others are there just for the namesake! If at least one of the lower order batsman played just ordinary batting then DC would have won the match. Though, Rohit had a chance to bring the victory he was brought under unnecessary pressure by the failure of lower order batsmen. DC has no hope unless the top order fires. So they might even end up at the last place of the points table. Share your views! Happy Mylotting!

Hi wismay, I have hardly missed any of the matches of ipl 3. I saw the Rajasthan Royals getting defeated but I saw the talent in the team as well. Their four wins in atrout was something that added to their momentum and tonight they emerged victorious. At one point it seemed it was the Deccan Chargers' game but Shane Warne's magic spell and the super catches brought them back to the reckoning. I admit that DC now is a shattered team and their lower order is too weak to be there. Apprehension is that they could end up settling themselves at the bottom of the tally.

Hi bestloser, Well I agree if it is Rohit or some body today tomorrow it would be somebody else. But ironically that is not happening. Look at Mumbai Indians. They have so far lost only one match if I am not incorrect. Then why star stuffed KKR and other high profile teams are cutting too poor edges? The form thing can be considered for a stipulated period of time. When your house is burning and everything is getting gutted what is the Fire Engine that arrives when it is too late? What we need is performance. And I am sure RR would make it to the semis.

Yes, DC used to win on Individual brilliance but it is not happening in this season and they are tasting defeats. On the other hand, RR always works as a team so they achieve victories even though individually they don't have many star players. Team effort wins more often and this match showed it. Though Warne struck the blows but still 4 runs from 5 balls with 3 wickets in hand, DC should have won. Happy Mylotting!

well it is just matter of day as today it was just one man show of Rohit Sharma and on other day it can be combined effort so they have so many good batsmen so I guess it is matter of form too.

Please don't take away anything from RR bowlers and fielders. They won the match. DC tried their level best and lost. At times even the best of batsmen have failed and lost the winning match. History has ample proof.

Hi Meapas! I am not taking anything away from RR bowlers or Captaincy. If you observe the score cards of all the matches of Deccan Chargers you will see that apart from Gilchrist, Gibbs, Rohit and Symonds no one has contributed significantly. That is the problem with DC. That is why I said, only top order needs to fire for them to win the matches. Lower order is letting them down in almost all matches and not just one match. Happy Mylotting!

Yes you are very much right. They should keep working on that. Most of the teams have this kind of weakness. Their lower order doesn't seem to have spine. Harbajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Anil Kumble have long back realised the importance of improving their batting skills and the result can be seen. It comes handy when the spotlight turns on you.

i agree with you, there are only 4 batsmen for deccan, in that 4 all are not batting upto their caliber. gilly not fired well to get a sure victory. gibbs not seen a good innings from him in this ipl, just playing the partners role. symonds and rohit need to finish the game and they are not doing it.

Luck always favors the one who tries harder. I don't think RP singh even bothers to practice batting for a five minutes at net. He couldn't even just touch and run for a single. Happy Mylotting!

hey it is for sure that dc have hot a poor lower order but i think today they are a bit of unlucky also.....they lost by mere 2 runs....Rohit undoubtedly played brilliantly...... but this time no hopes for dc

It is not about luck. It is about how hard they try. They have lost many matches due to lower order not being able to contribute. They can't even rotate the strike so that Rohit can take the strike. RP singh was clueless and then he skies a shot! Can't he just touch and run? Apart from top 4 batsmen no one even scoring 20 runs! That explains their recent losses. Happy Mylotting!
